ok so i thought i might put some pics i recently took in here, see what you lot think. still pretty new to photography so my skills probably dot even breach rookie and photoshop cs2 isnt my best friend either lol. i will get the hang of it eventually...just needs practice and all the tips/advice i can get so...

clouds from my bedroom window, used a Circular polariser, and then in PS i tried to boost the blues abit and darken the top by using a gradient but i didnt know how to do that without dimming the clouds up top

the old painting with light trick, i did it spiralling down over the mouse, even tho it doesnt look like it lol

this was a sunset from some hills near me, shoulda maybe just tried to sillohuet the foregroud perhaps?

this one was multiple exposures then nailed together with that HDRmerge thing in CS2, not sure if it actually did owt tho lol! doesnt look that convincing. did a selection of the sky then boosted some of the reds, yellows and blues. oh yeah, forgot to use my paper lens hood !

Nice work! I love the clouds, and the sunset. On your question, I think that silhouetting the trees would have been fairly unnecessary.

OK, I stand corrected a nice river. :lol: This is one of the most civilised threads in the forum, with some really exceptional talents - Pros as well as gifted amateurs, and er. ... me, I like taking 'snaps'. When I get over excited I post the odd one - people are polite about them, but they're nothing special.

umm i guess you hang out of your car window to do this? arent you afraid you might drop the camera? i wouldnt hang mine out the car window lol! i'd be way to fearful that it slipped out of my hands.
