Apparently the director of the construction of a major highway in France decided to let some supercar owners "have at it" before the road was officially opened. I dont think this is a repost, but i could be mistaken.

Some videos.

Z06 (~205mph)

Enzo (~225mph)

Gallardo (210-220mph)

Pretty cool, the Enzo is just a beast! Especially when you consider how much its held back with all the downforce it produces at those speeds.

He does say "360 km/h" in French at the end of the Gallardo video, don't know it's true though. It would be 223 mph.

^ Maybe he meant 316 km/h, that's around 195 mph. Though I don't think you would mix those two numbers up in French.

I've seen this before, mind you I do search every 200 mph+ run on youtube so thats the price I pay.

316 and 360 don't sound the same in French. He said "trois-cent soixante", not "trois-cent seize".

This is why America sucks. Because the democrats would NEVER EVER let us do this.

Why do you think NASCAR is a bunch of rednecks? Because we conservatives like to go fast :D

No, this isnt a political debate thread.

Awesome vids. Wish i could do that SO badly

I thought it was the exact opposite - I thhought liberals are more likely to break speeding laws than conservatives...

Anyways, Great vids! The Z06 didn't look very fast though, despite the speed. The Enzo was brutal!

Not likely. In Minnesota we cant get a drag strip close to Minneapolis because the liberals wont let us. They will do an "all in favor" thing and they keep voting No

355 here in the Chicagoland area was just opened...and all they had was a "party" :)

I think it was a chick driving the gallardo. That's the most awesome thing ever!! I wish I had a girlfriend who'd drive a lambo...

it IS NOT a issue of Liberal Democrats, its just a issue of public opinion, although i will admit hardcore democrats (aka borderline socialists) will usually be somewhat anti-car, my proof is my own state, Michigan. We almost always vote Democrat but probably have some of the healthiest regards for speed in the nation. The police do enforce bad driving very well though, and our better then average (i.e. lower) death rates reflect that, it just seems how the police patrol traffic is more complicated and smarter then just assessing for speeding or not.

An additional point is Ohio, which is more republican yet has some of the worst speed enforcements in the whole eastern side of the country. The whole state is clogged up with people tailgating at 65mph, the simple fact speed reduces congestion doesn't matter to them. Finally you have Virginia, which as far as i know is fairly Republican and are just as evil when it comes to punishing speeders, atleast on rural roads.

a stretch of freeway? I can show you a whole western half of a state

On a clear sunday morning i was once heading west at 90mph, low and behold a cop car appears in my rear view, i thought i'd had it, but i held my speed and cleared my head, and before i knew what was going on the police car passed me doing about a 100. Sure we have speed traps around Airports, and in certain built up areas, but i think you get my point.

I'm not saying you should become a democrat, fight for whatever it is you believe in! just understand that their are anti-car lobbies on both sides of the fence, and that its them who really ruin are lives (as car enthusiasts that is)

West Texas / New Mexico = Go as fast as you can/want.

Me and my two brothers maintained 120mph through the desert in New Mexico for at least 10 minutes.
