I know I've seen this around, but I can't find anything through searches:

I just swapped out my front seats in my car and have been trying to find a way to convert my old ones into some very comfy office seats... Does anyone know of any sites that have info on doing this or will I have to build something from scratch?

scratch most likely, its also critical that the seat be mounted extremely solid to the body

it's pretty simple if you have a welder and some flat bar. Just knock up a frame, probably an hours work.

if you don't have a welder, maybe with some dexium style metal you could make something easily.

The base of most rolling office chairs can be unbolted. Looking at the one I'm sitting on, it could lend itself pretty nicely to what you're trying to do. I think a little welding and fabrication would still be necessary though, it's definitely not a bolt together deal.

i have to come clean now, if i can find a comfortable office chair that matches they interior of a 82 VW Rabbit i am so doing this to my car, its just such a amazing concept!
