Adobe has just launched their own media player software to rival Quicktime and Windows Media Player. Dubbed Adobe Media Player, the player is Flash-based and compatible with Macs and PCs.

Adobe has signed on several content partners, including CBS, PBS, MTV, Comedy Central, and others, who will be providing episodes users can either stream or download direct to their PC. Adobe Media Player can be downloaded now for free on adobe.com.

Great, another media player.

All they need to do now is develop a proprietary format and refuse to license it.
Because i love having to install a new player or codec everytime someone decides to encode using some obscure format. <_<

What is the damn point? And flash based? You have got to be joking.

Exactly my thoughts.

As if we dont have enough codecs installed.
