Not bad... 4th place considering I've never finished on the podium

Ok, my choice is:
Fernbay Club - Class 1 Cars (GTI, GT) Should be a lot of fun, one of the smallest tracks, twisty, tight, and sort of safe because cars are not that powerful + the speed is relatively slow. I'm really looking forward to it. Setup is availble for GTI on inferno, which imo is the better choice anyway, which is also shown by the WRs GTI: 0:49.450 GT: 0:50.550 Oh, and we still need a few choices.

Not the Browser

I raced on a public-server "AS cadet rev, xf gti" it was close racing. Did a 1:04.53
That my choice. |

^ There are no setups on inferno for gti/gt cars
Though really nice choice. Lets leave it, thats due in 4weeks anyway, maybe till that there's gonna be a setup ![]() ps: it would be the 4rd race in a row with gti/gt by that time... but I dont actually mind, fine with me

I actually don't like the GT cars, other than the FOX, which isn't really a GT car. The sound bugs me, as it must make me think about nascar. I also don't like how the tires heat up quickly. I like FOX or the regular cars, like the RB4 GT, XRT, XF (whatever that frontwheel drive yellow car is), etc...
It's a different talent that is needed to drive the slower cars, which is why I like it. A little story on old cars vs. new cars. I went autocrossing in my friend's s2000 down in LA and the instructor, Brian Moon, drove a 1963 BMW 2002 with 700,000 miles on it. He drove the car around the track two seconds faster than anyone in their new G35s, M5s, M3s, s2000s, etc... The car looked like it was going to roll around every corner, but the driver knew his car and knew the limits.

^ To be honest I also prefer the "regular" cars, as I am more the tight/twisty track type of person, and GTRs arent really made for that type of tracks. However, I like also to race GTRs every now and then, and even though I prefer regular cars, its a different feeling for the GTRs that is also quite nice. IMO its fine this way, and we have a bit of diversity.
We raced aston cadet with regular cars, then it was SO Long with gtrs and now Kyoto, after that its 2-3times regular cars again etc. BTW, you can also race with the FOX if you want to. Im probably gonna take the FXO, which WR wise is almost the same as the FOX. As for tires, they heat up quickly because on WR setups they use R2, most grip and most wear, put R3 or R4 and you'll see hell of a difference

So it's Kyoto GP Long with the Class 6 cars (GTRs and the Fox), right??
Better get onto practicing. |

I don't know if I'll make it. Been practicing and can't even finish two laps. Plus my best is 10 seconds of the World Record which means I'll be dead last among other things.

^ What he said. Just join and have fun! I can get decent time with the FXO, but the tires dont last even 2 laps, meaning that I'll have to change those to R3 or R4 which results in much much slower times....

And here's why, WRs: GTI 0:50.43 GT 0:51.80 UF 0:53.29 The difference is not that big, 2.5s, however the mini is much easier to handle, and the tires last decades. Which hopefully will make more people join the race. + It should be safer with the minis, and I really hope there won't be any major crashes. So, my final vote Fern Bay Club Reverse - UF1000 (aka Mini) |

old porsches do run!
|
That sounds good
![]() In fact.. I start hating GTR's already. The fact that I can only drive FXR (fox too slow, fz too wild), even though I don't like it much is annoying me ![]() We should have had BW on GTI/GT this week, and GTRs next week, so there would be some variety... |

I'm all for it, but some people have been practicing whole week (well, you at least, I assume), so I don't know...

^ I just did a few runs with Jos the other day, and a few hotlaps after that. That was all my practice, so I don't mind personally.

You did "few laps" and you're 2 seconds off WR? damn. I did a few laps and I'm 10sec off. If I make it to the finish line.

Well "few" = probably spent an hour or so hotlapping. Watched a replay from lfsworld, went practicing, realised im quite slow, watched replay again, went driving, got a bit better, bust still not good enough, quickly made a comparison in the lfs analyzer thing, went driving again.
