LFS car modifying?

Random question, but are cars modifiable in LFS to the extent that they are in Forza?
Just wondering as I play forza extensively (Until I had to restart my profile... expletive, expletive, expletive, 20m down the drain) and was considering buying a liscence to LFS SA2
EDIT: can you gift me like a 500cr car with the FG image on it? I can pay if you want, or give you one of my tuned cars. Add me GT: ThePieMonster

engine = NO,
transmission = only gear ratios,
suspension = "hight", dampening, etc (not by maker),
tires = maker and slicks or road tyres,
how much fuel,
etc

and you don't buy anything, just change it.

anyone with better answer?

That essentially is exactly what I asked, thanks much images/smilies/smile.gif
It seems to me the thing I have the most fun with in FM2 is tuning, tweaking car settings to make it as fun and easy to drive as possible. I'm not a competitive driver; I won't do 50 laps to gain that extra .202 on the other driver.

If, by "modifying", you mean zOMegggg!!1! l00k at my WING!11!!1!!1!!, then no.

If, by "modifying", you mean making realistic changes in tuning, configuration, and setup for racing, then yes.

You can use a program called LFS tweak (i think). It allows you to alter some performance values in some of the cars when driving offline.

There are some very talented people online, and some can put up lap times that are seemingly impossible to the average Joe.
Take a look at the hot lap times on http://www.lfsworld.net/ and then try to set one yourself.
I for one usually have a hard time getting within 2 or 3 seconds of the top times, while people like pdanev and firefox for example will be more like 1 or 2 seconds off the time.

I'm normally 3 seconds off the world record time in LFS, and having downloaded and watched those replays. All I can say is that those times are fucking impossible for me to do.

There are some 'Nos' hacks that speed up the car when you brake, basically giving you double power or something like that. Obviously, using that online or for WRs will get you banned from LFS.
