Default Newbie Question, Damage Effect (not Visual)

OK i tried to search but did not find a proper answer, so i will ask.
Damage. I have the demo, i see the visual damage but no effect on the car, i had the little hatchback with the whole front smashed in and i still could hit 100mph.. Something is wrong.
Does the full version actually use damage effects because that was one gripe of GT4 and etc.. I mean what fun if you can hit a wall at full 100% and just drive off (other then newbie mood)? So yeah, is there some setting i am missing or what? I am going to use LFS as a stop over till Forza 2 for 360. Damage or not, it a fun game.
Thanks, Zuhaib

Yes, the wheels will plow and whatnot. There's also tire wear.

As far as I can tell though, mostly what's affected when you crash is wheel alignment.

... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it.

There is only suspension and engine damage in LFS. The body of the car can bend too, but it does not effect the driving.

You can have visual damage without suspension damage, and you can damage your suspension without having any visual damage. images/smilies/smile.gif

Since visual damage has no effect on the car like geeman pointed out, you can still drive the car fast as long as your suspension is in one piece.
