Default No throttle or brakes on LFS ... not with pedals or buttons..

Using a Logitech momo racing. It wasn't giving me any throttle with pedals, but the pedals work in the profiler. I put the throttle on the steering and it still doesn't work. When I open the options-->controls screen, it works in that screen. Like when I press the wheel button that's supposed to be the throttle, it flashes. Then, I hit ESC and back on the track, I got nothing. Weird huh?

Restart LFS again?
Do the throttle and brake bars on the right bottom of the screen work properly? When you press the throttle or brake pedal.

RestarteD LFS and now my pedals work but my steering wheel throttle and steering wheel brakes don't work.

Whatever, I have steering, brakes and throttle and paddle shifters which is what I use. It's weird how it decided to ignore my settings but whatever, it works... I can race.

Edit: actually it took 3 re-starts and at one point I was just pressing it in the Car Park for like 30 seconds and then my car started to do a burn out and I was like... IT WORKS!

Very weird. Almost like the pedals have a loose connector or something.

Profiler is nice. Thanks.

By the way is there a way to reduce the sensitivity or ratio of the steering? I find I flick it and I get maximum lock right away... and I either understeer like a mad man or lose the rear of my car.

Sheesh, it's so much harder with a wheel than I thought. I think all my lap times have gone up by like 10 seconds images/smilies/sad.gif

There was this steering multiplier thing in the controls, cant think of the exact name right now. It's a slider with 0 - 1.

What it does is it makes the wheel less sensitive in the center, so that when you make a small move on a straight e.g. the car doesn't go out of control. On the other extreme you have completely linear steering, meaning smallest movement anywhere on the wheel will result in the same wheel movement. Try to play around with that, I think I have mine on .7-.8 or something like that, but I'm not sure. + I use a DFP so .7-.8 may have different result on different wheels.

Last remark, patience. images/smilies/smile.gif
It takes a while till you get the wheel set up properly to your liking, till you get used to it, and till you can post a good laptime. Also get setups that are made for wheel specifically, mouse/kb setups don't always work that well on wheel.

I think it takes a few weeks till you get into the competitive sector with a wheel, but keep practicing and don't give up, once you are there it's worth it. images/smilies/wink.gif
