Downloading now. Btw, you might wann use rapidshare e.g. for future videos, megaupload is quite slow. Getting 10k, which is ok for a few mb video, but well... just a suggestion images/smilies/smile.gif

Whoa, kick ass!!!! images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I'm not a big fan of such type of music, but I must admit it really suited well the carnage. Very good stuff!!!! Keep em coming!

Constructiv criticism:
Pess shift+F to get rid of names, time, map etc, so that you have a clean screen.
You might want to *cough* buy the full version of fraps, to get rid of frap.com.

But in general good stuff!!! 8) Green light for making longer videos. images/smilies/tongue.gif

edit: just noticed you know shift+F, in the 2nd scene you must've forgotten that I guess. images/smilies/smile.gif

Yeah I know shift + F. Just forgot it. images/smilies/blush.gif

Thanks guys. That song is by Cirrus called Stop and Panic. Thought it might suit it well. I just can't get the compression down far enough for the sound file yet.

That 10 second scene took about 2 hours to make since I was learning VDub by clicking and finding out what it does.

As far as the crash. Now you know who was indirectly responsible for both images/smilies/wink.gif.

Uploading my summary/crash compilation of the feature race right now.

Edit:
First link is 30 MB with CD quality music.

EDIT: REMOVED images/smilies/oops.gif

Let me know. Again constructive criticism is welcome and just try to avoid my shoddy camera work images/smilies/wink.gif. Don't have a steady hand. images/smilies/tongue.gif

chickeneater wasn't having a good race. All the stuff with chickeneater happened in a span of 5 laps. Oh yeah and I know the FPS kinda sucked some time.

Did you lower the resolution before capturing?

And erm... your both links are the same 30mb version.

But.. do you mean it's the same picture, just 15mb of music? Didn't you compress it with mp3? Do that, 128kbit will be enough.

Basically it was the same but the music quality was half.

I will be working more on videos now to get a better FPS and to improve the quality. I'm also going to try DV Studio and see if that gives me a little bit more editing power images/smilies/wink.gif.

Good job finding moments images/smilies/smile.gif That must have taken a loooot of time...

What's with non-transparent windows? Is that somekind of mod, or just setting in options? Also you could save about 15mb if you compressed audio with mp3. I'm not sure how you can do that in Virtual DUB, I used Ulead MediaStudio to put it all together.

Also, damnit! Why my captures aren't nearly as smooth?? I do them at 640x480 and framerate drops from >100 to <15fps the moment I press F12 (which tells fraps to start recording). So I have to record at half speed, which is still not good enough.

Totally offtopic: what's that Puzzle 1: Started 11/23/05 Status: 59 % Completed in your sig?

Let's just say going through everyones replay took some time. Putting it together wasn't too bad. I did this on my laptop which only has a 32 MB Nvidia Geforce 420 Go. Not the greatest video card. My settings were at 1024x768 and then when I pressed record for fraps it drops to 15 frames like it should and record at half the size (512x384). You can compress MP3s with VirtualDUB but the thing is the audio slows down because of recording it at 15 FPS. I might give Ulead MediaStudio a try as well. Trying to find a more powerful program.

Non-transparent windows?? Could have been because of the laptop. When I first started LFS it gave me a shadow error. Could be the crappy video card in this laptop.

[OFF-TOPIC]It is a 2000 piece puzzle I'm putting together. I'm almost done just working on the last part of it which is also the hardest part images/smilies/smile.gif.[/OFF-TOPIC]

Erm.. no? It should drop to exactly what you set in fraps, which in my case was 25fps. I also didn't record at half size, because apparently it's slower than smaller window + full size capture. About the audio, you didn't include original audio, so there's nothing to slow down (or actualy speed up, as you are speeding up the video in vdub?)... You just need to mix the already speeded up video with mp3 file, and I couldn't figure out how to do that in Virtual Dub. It only takes WAV's for me.

I tried Premier, but that's just so overcomplicated for me. MediaStudio is supposedly the next best thing, and everything is just drag&drop and point&click. Really easy. Drop the video, delete the original audio, put speed 200%, try to sync moments to sound track, crop the overlapping parts (leaving a bit for crossfading) and that's it. Ready to compress.
