Prodrive P2 segment in LFS project

Hi

i'm thinking about giving this idea a go. i've seen the TG parody in BF2, and the drifters in LFS, and wanted to do something of my own. i think this would be a good part to do - lots of different camera angles, and the RAC looks like the P2, apart from the lack of roof. shame the RAC GTR isn't in the game

i've had a go at making a silver skin like the P2's paintwork, and after failing lots i decided it would need to be a group project. so would anyone like to put some spare time into this. i can do the recording and capturing myself using fraps, but i will need a skin, and a volunteer to be the guy who explains the diff. they will just have to sit in the car and look at the guy in my car (who will be JC with a helmet on )

i also need a model of the driver made up to look a bit like jezza, no idea how to do this though. i've seen some good 'people' skins, so i know it can be done.

finally i'm still unsure about the track. westhill seems the obvious choice, with a long straight. obviously the skid pan will be used for the 'driving around cones' bit.

list of things i need:

• RAC skin in silver
• blue/black trimmed interior skin
• rear lights redesigned
• driver skin
• some way of making clouds move
• second driver

unless everybody thinks this is a crap idea, i will go ahead with it.

if you have a better idea than this for a LFS/TG segment, pleeeease tell me now as it will make it easier

That's a bit optimistic imo.

1, The rac gtr was a 3d mod done by Orion, it was never in the game, just some messing around in 3d studio max.
2, New interior texture - pain in the ass, unlikely to look like in real life.
3, Rear lights - can't change that in game, only if you make a new texture, and imo all light textures look crap. The only way lights look good if they are properly modeled ones, such like you see on some renders. However, that's not possible in LFS, since ingame lights are just textures.
4, clouds move - can be done if you're good enough at video editing.

Overall, I think it will be a LOT of time and a LOT of effort to make it work, and it probably won't be worth it for a few min video.

If you really want to make this, then I'd suggest forget about all the interior, lights etc mods. Just go ahead record some footage with a silver rac, and edit the video/sound nicely.

thanks for the comments, i admit my original idea is a bit optimistic, so i've scaled it down a bit. i will just use a silver RAC, but i still need a silver skin, because i can't make my own. i'm making the clouds part now, using the green screen feature in adobe premiere. i'm using the CMX viewer to create a green screen and layering that over a shot of the drag track

it will come together, but if you have a spare 5 mins, could you create a realistic silver skin for me please

Chose a gray color of choice, fill a 2048x2048px jpg, go to filter -> noise -> add noise (choose preferred amount), save as RAC_namehere.jpg. It won't be 100% silver/metallic, but as close as it will get. However I doubt that you will see much effect from this "silver" paint in a video, with a moving car and small resolution.
