Looks like thread for this week was missing..
Boring 1st race, great 2nd one ![]() For the 1st half of second race I was exchanging places with burnsy, and in 2nd half running away from ESPNSTI and setting PB's ![]() Moral of the day: If I practiced for 1h more earlier, I could've been doing 2:51 from the start. Too bad I'm so damn lazy ![]() |

Your Guide to TG/FG

This was one of the best weekends of the season so far for me.
I had a great battle with FireFox and Burnsy in race 1. FireFox managed to pass me in the pits (not in the same lap), but I put on the pressure in the second half of the race, and managed to pass him in the last lap when he dropped a wheel off the track. In race 2, I had a good fight with Firefox at the beginning, and I also managed to pass Burnsy. Then with 4 laps to go, I was 3 seconds behind MXM, and I was able to get within a second, but both MXM and I were running at about the same speed and I couldn't catch him. |

During race 1 Pete and I touched on the uphill slalom and we both went into the grass. After that I just started to put in consistent laps. I caught MXM but screwed it up on the subsequent corners. I decided to pit on lap 4. I spent 10 seconds in the pits. After I came out of the pits I eventually got into the fifth position and stayed there.
During race 2 Pete and I fought for what felt like eternity but it was only 3 laps. I knew I had to get past Pete but it wasn't going to be easy. In those three laps I got right onto Pete's bumper during a few corners and finally at the end of lap 3, I forced my way through. The car actually slid out and I bumped Pete into the grass. I didn't do it on purpose but I was finally able to stretch my legs. During the first split, Pete always closed up a bit but by all other splits, I just pulled away. Eventually I got my 2:49.72.

Good weekend overall, I'm quite pleased. First, I'm thankful that my computer didn't crash and survived the race. Some of you know I managed to get a pretty nasty virus/rootkit/trojan etc combination that kept repopulating itlesf, no way to get rid of it. Sadly didn't have time to reinstall windows, so was quite lucky that computer didn't crash during the race.
1st race was unfortunate with the small collision like Mischief already mentiond, I didn't look at the replay but I think it was just a racing accident. From what I remember we were running alogside each other, I looked multiple times to my left to check where Mischief was. I might have turned just a bit too much on the lefthand corner, leading to a small bump which in itself was not a big crash or something, but we both spun off into the grass/sand. I did pretty much the same afterwards like Mischief, tried to push and be consistent, but the collision cost us 10-15seconds, no way to catch up especially with some traffic here and there. 2nd race was great. I made only one mistake throughout the race, cost me about 2seconds, but otherwise I was really consistent. First 3 laps I tried to hold of Mischief as much as possible, even though he was way faster than me. After a while the inevitable happened, and he overtook me. I desperately tried to catch up, but with my extra weight and his lightning fast pace, I couldn't do anything. Good weekend overall, shame about the collision in the first race, but this is racing. ![]() PS: So far this season is really nice, I think the extra weight works pretty well, and there is a lot of competition on the track. If only MXM would practice a bit more, and not wait untill the end of the 2nd race to get into proper pace.... ![]() edit2: look at todays scored points, mischief 17, 3 people x 16... Couldn't be any closer! Last edited by pdanev; November 4th, 2007 at 01:18 AM. |

Qualification was uberly fast
I managed to get some tenth of my PB in the last few seconds of Q.Race 1 was awesome, nice fights with burnsy and Espn. When burnsy overtook me he disapeared for 3 or 4 seconds, i thought he was going to disconnect. In lap 5 orso i wanted to pit, but as soon i as i saw that Burnsy and Espn were pitting I decided to do 1 more lap, and pit then. It was very close when i returned back on the track, Espn was closing at 220km/h and could stay infront of him in T1. Then in the last lap, somehow lost concentration and had to correct some oversteer, ran wide and touched the sand. Espn didnt hesitate and overtook me. Quite happy with 3rd place. Race 2. Crappy race tbh. The beginning had some fights with Espn. Once he was away i lost concentration again, and had to correct oversteer, burning the rear tiers, and couldnt set any fast times. Once thing let to another. Too hot rear tires -> slower times.
