Top Gear meets Live for Speed >TopSpeed

hi guys,

fellow live for speed driver Don came up with the idea of producing a virtual version of Top Gear featuring Live for Speed. complete with car tests, star in a reasonable priced car, powerlaps with a stig and wicked challenges.

now of course thats a rather complex project and he needs a litle help, i've already signed up, but i figured i might make an announcement here as well.
especially needed is someone with a bit of clarksonian wit and voice to be the host, but of course any help regarding ideas for reports, challenges, car tests and everything else that can go into the show will be welcome.

I don't see it turning out to be too much like topgear, because of the lack of studio obviously, and kinda limited amount of cars in lfs.

I don't think there's a way I could help though.. My english sucks, and there are a lot more better drivers out there. I did some editing, but obviously DoN is teh master in that field

I'd like to see how it all turns out, but I still remain a bit sceptical. 20minutes is ALOT to fill and to still keep interest up. In the end it will all come down to the commentator. Make an audition, for example, and ask people to comment 5minute movie and let people (us ) decide. You may provide script, because the commentator is not necessarily good writer, as long as he talks well

If LFS only allowed importing of geometery for tracks, i could knock up a studio and track in 3dsmax no problem, since that's what i do.

well, its possible to replace things, but you would need some hacking skills and hacking LFS is frowned upon so we won't do that. there are screenshots however, of a mclaren F1 in LFS.

hmm... they want to do the football thing as well, I remember magnet talking about it, but no one could ever make a proper ball

no football i'm afraid, not until scawen creates a ball (he has showed a little interest into the football matter though, so i hope somedoay he will do it )

hah, nice to see you created the thread here i didnt think about this place.

yeah 20 minutes might be too much, we will see how well it goes - maybe it will be just 10 minutes? we`ll see.

and i dont want to do the topgear football unless we get the ball. I know some people play the footie with UF1000 or MRT5 as a ball, but i dont want to do these unrealistic things.

I don't see what else you can do except test the cars, might be better off calling it Fifth Speed
