This was one problem on my calculus homework tonight. 65. Guppy Population The number of guppies in Susan's aquarium doubles every day. There are four guppies initially. (a) Write the number of guppies as a function of time t. (b) How many guppies were present after 4 days? after 1 week? (c) When will there be 2000 guppies? (d) Writing to Learn Give reasons why this might not be a good model for the growth of Susan's guppy population. I wouldn't try and degrade guppies if I were you. They will amass an army and destroy you! Be afraid of the water, Pikachu. Be very afraid. BTW, the answer for (d) is: If Susan is a Pikachu, the model may be problematic for her as the number of guppies would quickly reach such extreme numbers that they would eventually form one super-guppy shark and swallow her whole.
