They just ruined it. That IS over the line.

I think it all depends on what you mean by "luxury." It's no Merc or Audi or Bimmer, no doubt. But the Toyota Camry XLE is often marketed as a "luxury sedan." Indeed, I think that Camry LE stands for "Camry Luxury Edition" and Camry XLE stands for "Camry Extra Luxury Edition." And the 200...

The 300 is made in Canada, not Detroit. The interwebz would be tearing them apart if they had used a Canadian-made car in that ad.

Kid Rock? He's from Detroit too, and his personality fits with Dodges doing power slides better than Eminem's does.

Glam-metal? Maaaaaaaybe for the Challenger SRT-8, but not Chrysler. But instead of "lose yourself," they should have used either "Beautiful" (because of the Detroit connection) or "Not Afraid" (about coming back after hitting rock bottom), instead of using a song that implies that they've...

    Imported From Detroit

The first time I watched it, I thought the ad was for Chrysler as a whole. I missed the one-second line suggesting it was specifically about the 200. I think they should have just made it a brand-oriented ad instead of technically being a model-oriented ad, because that's what it really is in...

That's from a couple years back. They chose Eminem for a reason. You make a good point about the luxury-and-Eminem bit, but if you look at luxury cars as nice things that up-and-coming buy, not pleasant things that old wealthy people own, it makes sense. I'm a 29-year-old lawyer who owns...

Autoblog: Hyundai says "Hey 2billion, you should buy a car from us next time" with Veloster.

Thanks for doing that! It's still not what I'd call "attractive," but it's a huge improvement.

A child lock on the door accomplishes the safety part, so I think it's just styling, combined with the fact that some drivers like one long door instead of two short doors (you can toss a briefcase on the back seat and then sit down without opening and closing two separate doors).

Could someone with better photoshop skills than me photoshop the painted area inside the rounded trapezoid to be black instead of body-color? I think painting that one piece black might fix the entire front end, kind of like how painting the Acura TL's beak body-color transforms the entire car...

Can a cell phone charger cause parasitic draw if no cell phone is attached?

It charged all day at the dealership. Drove it back to the office at 4 pm. Locked it, made sure dome lights and headlights were off. By 9 pm, when I went back out to it, dome lights were periodically fading when the engine was at idle. Drove it home. Parked it, locked it, made sure all...

Can a cell phone charger cause parasitic draw if no cell phone is attached?

Thanks everyone for the help. If the problem reoccurs, the alternator is the first thing we'll have them look at.

Can a cell phone charger cause parasitic draw if no cell phone is attached?

My wife's ten-month-old Element is at the shop after the battery went completely dead--to the point where the power door locks wouldn't work, the sound system's memory was erased (so it needs an unlock code), and a jump-start from a Civic didn't have enough grunt to get the engine running again...

Help me decide... Xbox or PS-3

I think it depends on how much you like the game. If you've got a group of friends who play Halo together every Saturday afternoon, and you want to be part of the game, buying an XBox (instead of a PS3, or instead of nothing) just for that would be entirely reasonable IMO. As for...

Your picks: the five best-engineered cars on sale today?

This. Every single person who drove my wife's former vehicle (a 2007 Tacoma) nearly rammed something the first time they drove it because the brakes felt like stepping on a wet grapefruit. Otherwise, I'm not well-equipped to comment on the vehicle, because I don't have much experience in...
