The EQ in PowerAmp in addition to the EQ in CM6 has FINALLY made my music sound the way it should. Fantastic.

I'll have to give PowerAmp a try, I do wish it had a cleaner look though. Can it fast forward or rewind by holding down the next/last track buttons? If so I'm definetly checking it out.
Nope, sorry. Winamp has that, though, so it's definitely possible.
/me goes nag at the devs.
Honestly, even with that shortcoming PowerAmp is probably my favorite music player so far. Personally I'm a big fan of the UI, and an EQ is nice as well.
Looks like I have a new app to try with my car's Bluetooth... somehow I doubt PowerAmp will do whatever it was Winamp and doubleTwist didn't
Just throw that stupid car in the garbage and get one that works properly.
Any tips on a good app to use as a media server, that is, watch on my phone videos I have on my desktop using the wi-fi?
I know I can transfer the files using ASTRO or estrongs, but I would like something with transcoding capabilities.
There's players that will play xvid and mkv without transcoding, like rockplayer (in the market) or Vplayer.
Thanks! Will give it a try.
Damn, PowerAMP is a nice app for sure. I'm sure it'll get a nice skin soon enough.
My favorite feature is how it lets you select music folders. Shame you can't select subfolders.

I'm sure they're relying on people to organize their music folder like they want to, that's just to keep the standard media like ringtones and notifications out of the playlist.
Another feature I miss about all the players is the option to circumvent the audiable notifications during playback. Not for calls, of course, but messages or emails, tweets, etc...
You mean audible notifications don't play when music is playing?
What happens to me is, the playback is muted (not paused), then the notification audio plays, playback resumes at a later point (the amount of time it takes for the notification to play), which sucks when I'm listening to an audio book on a walk.
I put the ringtones and notifications into sdcard/media/ringtones/ & ../notifications/ and music into sdcard/music/ so the only dir I have the app check is the last one. Easy peasy.![]()
