Car: Audi TT '08 Rep Power: 160 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates (AP) -Oil-rich United Arab Emirates will host a Formula One Grand Prix from 2009 in its capital Abu Dhabi. Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone announced the seven-year deal Saturday. "Abu Dhabi's hospitality, the genuine warmth of its people and ever increasing number of world class facilities, will ensure that its round of the FIA Formula One World Championship is a wonderful addition to the Formula One calendar,'' Ecclestone said. He made his remarks at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Formula One Festival. The Abu Dhabi track, which is currently under construction, will be located on Yas Island on the east coast and near the city's airport. The 5.6-kilometer (3.48-mile) race track will feature three sections including high speed areas, a street section and a marina area, said Khaldoon Al Mubarak, chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Affairs Authority. | Are they going to drop another race for this one? The circuit should be amazing, the UAE just don't do common things.

Rep Power: 20 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | although I am interested in this track, I rather see great tracks like Suzuka come back. Ecclestone is ruining the traditional picture of F1 with these tracks...

| I agree, I want the old circuits back. Put F1 on the Nordschleife ![]() He's moving everything to the east and the great european track are falling out. I'm afraid F1 won't be as good in a couple of years! ![]() I'm glad Spa is back this year, great track! | |

So I don't mind new events - I wouldn't be sad to see the Hungaroring gone in favour of an event at a new, interesting & challenging circuit for instance.

| no, Bernie is doing that so he can get even more money!! and yes, the hungarian GP was one of the best (if not 'the') last season. but in all the other races it's held in it's history, it's been boring as hell!! | |

![]() I don't like killing the old circuits in benefit of this new ones. Exceptions made to the Hungaroring and Imola perhaps. Btw, I really hate Imola... especially the Tamburello, if you get me.

. 1, 8 and 11 are the other obvious overtaking spots, and there are some fast sweeps, nothing like the pre-2002 130R, but what is.(other than Eau Rouge)But hey, its new venue for the circus to go to. At least the first race I guarantee will be fun to watch. Last edited by Made In the USA; February 27th, 2007 at 11:20 PM..
