Eugene Donnelly has funding problems which really started when he got the S12 last year. After the first round, Reid Transport stepped in and replaced all his old sponsors, saying they would pay for everything and maybe a few WRC rounds, they also sponsored a number of other cars too. They sold the S12 to Derek McGarrity and rented for the remaining rounds. From there it went downhill, but he managed to still win the Tarmac C'ship. In November last Reid Transport went bust, £3m+ in debt, 200 out of work.

A couple of weeks before the first Tarmac round this year, news leaked onto an internet forum, of a sponsorship deal with Paddypower. Partly because of the that the deal fell thru'. Jack Sleator said he could use his S12, which he did in Galway, but retired with gearbox problems and talk of doing he rest of the c'ship in that car fizzled out.

He was supposed to drive a 6R4 on a small rally a few weeks ago but the car wasn't ready, but is due drive a RWD Toyota Starlet as 001 on a rally at the end of June.

Gareth Jones - no money

Derek McGarrity was entered in one of his S12's on the Jim Clark, but withdrew a few days before, not sure why. The Jim Clark is an expensive rally to do . He is entered for Donegal. Apart from Prodrive, very few people buy and sell more Subaru WRC's.

Andrew Nesbitt is semi-retired. He has been doing a the odd Euro Rallycross round in a Per Eklund Saab 93. He is entered for Donegal in Subaru and I'd bet he will do Rally Ireland next year.

Cool Cool. Thanks for that. Shame for Eugene especially as he is an amazing tarmac driver. Very very quick. To beat the likes of Higgins in a straight fight is extremely impressive. Hopefully he gets back into it!
