I have to admit I am a bit ignorant, is rallycross basically Group B rallying? If so I am all for it.

^ Sort of - Group B rally cars certainly found a home there. Picture cars of Group B caliber, competing at the same time on a short circuit - it's automotive chaos of the best variety.

I can't wait for the start of the season. I hope Grönholm entering the sport will raise the profile of Rallycross, it's a spectacular and very entertaining sport which I'd really like to have better coverage of. As you can propably determine from the videos above.

It was a great debut for Marcus. The other contenders, most notably Micael Jernberg taught him some ropes by giving a few solid knocks on his rear bumper and very nearly spinning him out on the frst corners but Marcus didn't let that disturb him too much. Wasn't dominant win though, Hansen was rather close to taking the lead after the joker lap.

Apparently at some point during qualifying Marcus had been wondering whether he had a driveshaft failure as the car was going sideways. Then he remembered he was in a rallycross track and sure enough there was another guy bumping his rear quarter panel images/smilies/lol.gif

Whether it would have worked or not we'll never know, but there's always the next race. As I said, Marcus took a few solid hits from Jernberg early in the final but kept his foot down and held the lead.

I'm looking forward to seeing Marcus fight against Isachseen and Hunsbedt who propably woulnd't have the courtesy Hansen did.

Im not an expert or anything, but isn't deliberatly hitting other peoples cars agains the rules? I know knocking the sides during cornering is fine, but I cant imagine something like a PIT maneuver being allowed..

Rallycross is awesomeness at it's purest. I love what Grönholm said about rallycross and what got him into it comparing it to the wild and hectic world of WRC:
