Default My motorsports debute

Last night, I finally got the chance to play Mr. race car driver. For $15 I went down to the Orlando Speed World (located outside of Christmas, FL) and had at with the 1/4 mile.

It was the first time I got to really see what my car could do, and was darn good fun...even if it was just in a straight line. A bunch of friends and I got together (because a few of us didn't know where we were going), took about 30mins or so of driving from Daytona (and we hit 100 at one point, first time I ever did that on a highway as well).

But, to the juicy stuff, the times. I ran 3 times (the strip was stopped several times because of the computers and one Camaro crashing), the first two against one of my friends and his Sentra, the last time I had my friend riding shotgun and we raced an '89 BMW 745i. My only regrets are that I had a 20" monitor in the trunk (I'm in the middle of moving) and I don't have the 740 Turbo (could've had that BMW...and that Sentra). So, here they are:

1st run: 18.609 @ 70.89 Sentra...17.496 @ 76.66
2nd run: 18.333 @ 73.66 Sentra...17.300 @ 81.35
3rd run: 18.908 @ 72.36 745i...17.758 @ 80.36

All three cars are stock. A really good night, funny to see some ricers try to take cars that can actually go. I'll get some videos and pictures up as soon as I can.

Nice to see people having fun with simple things.
