Oulton Park Track Day
Went to the Gold cup at Oulton Park yesterday, fantastic day and some incredible cars about, races included formula ford and formula juniors, along with some ridiculously loud cars. Nice to walk round and see some of the cars being prepared.
Also had a small rally track in the middle with some classics of the rally world trying to get round some very wet corners    Must have been at least 6-7 E-types around.  What a sight!    Ladies and Gentlemen, the RS200!    This renault 5 had been heavily race modified and the advert in the window was to sell it at the princely sum of £14,500.    Almost every rally car got caught on this corner, slide outs galore    Might look like this is static but that car was still rolling backwards towards me as i took the picture, could have reached out and touched the rear once it stopped!    Simply stunning!   oh and it wouldnt be complete without a ferrari now would it

the sound of the RS200 going round was magnificent, popping like crazy before a small burst of flame shot out of the exhaust
oh and the 575 had a thin but inch long scratch just on the drivers door, have a feeling it could easily have been done by one of the many people checking it out, driver would have been gutted to see that if it wasnt there before  final race of the day had mustangs racing alongside GT40's...one hell of a sight |
