These were from the last two races of my karting championship.

Race 9:

If I stare at the back of his head hard enough, lazers will come out and fry his helmet muhahaha.

I has a pass.

Do I get a cookie now? Also, I can has carwash plz? Side pod has mild case of donuts.

Simon says... everyone duck!!! PS, Simon's nickname is "aerodynamics". Whatever that is.

Race 10:

Ok Mr. Red, Mr. Carbon Fiber, I know you gots pole, but dis pole is really mine k?

See? I take the pole. The rubber will not fail me!

YOU. SHALL NOT. PA- oh, okay then.

We is a train.

I make good publicity shot, no?

I love that you have that "lean over for better aerodynamics" look. Or the similar, lean forward to push the car faster look. Same diff

Yep, my coach says I'm "all up on the wheel". Ducking my head probably doesn't do crap, but it makes me feel better.

I work on the tow crew at SCCA Regional and Pro events. So I'm sitting on the back of the tow truck in the pre-grid area at the Laguna Seca ALMS race this year, and this car rolls up and parks there for the next LMP qualifying session. it was just a really cool moment to be this close to an LMP car.

It's not really too bad, once you get some good padding in the seat. Some of the sharper curbs still punch you pretty good. I don't run with a rib protector, but most everyone does. Some of the really experienced guys have "karting ribs". I won't go into detail. It's kinda gross. Extra bone growth and whatnot.

What's gonna suck is the 4 hour endurance race I have in December. Our team is looking at 40-minute stints. It's gonna take a big driving style adjustment to not die. Gotta learn to relax back in the seat more. Definitely gonna do a few extra pushups the week before that one...

Man, I don't know what is is about those things. They're like F1 - they're just in another league. As soon as they get near you get shivers.

Speaking of ALMS, Flying Lizard Motorsports is actually based in a garage about 500 feet from the Infineon karting track. It's cool to see them up there occasionally.
