Wow. Makes me sad. I was really hoping that for next year we'd see all the issues finally sorted out with the TDI.

I think Darren Turner is going to go race with Aston Martin, Plato will try and find another touring car drive, I don't see any problem with a private team running the diesel cars in BTCC.

But Seat are one of the big names in the BTCC, they have been for years. If they drop this then even less people will buy their cars. Grave own digging their.

Well... they already have digged their grave. With the economical crisis we are suffering here in Spain I see why they decided to drop from the BTCC. The brand is starting to loose clients (the new inibza is ugly as hell, and the next Exeo it's a past-gen Audi A4 with seat leon grille and lamps).

I suppose they want to focus more with the WTCC as it probably gives them more international publicity.

Seat is pulling out of SA's market as well, seems like they are fighting a tough battle here.

The new Ibiza looks incredible, specially compared to the crappy designs SEAT had launched recently. The new Toledo specially has been a spectacular failure. Not very surprising that SEAT has rushed to find a replacement. Or rather, has rushed to make the car the new Toledo should have been from the start: a small sedan to compete with the likes of the Skoda Octavia or the Citroën C5. The reason to use the 3rd gen Audi 4 as the base is obvious: it's cheaper that way. I really hope that the gamble goes well, but I'm afraid the first renders I've seen of the new Exeo show more or less what Vltros said: an A4 with a Leon front and Toledo II rear lights. Not a promising start, but I expect the real thing to look better.

Back on topic, it's sad that they are pulling out of BTCC, where they were doing quite well, but I suppose their finantial situation doesn't allow for an extended sports program. I hope that they recover, and go back to international racing.

I'm glad they're gone from BTCC. Don't have to deal with the diseasels anymore.
