Yuki Takahasi has been fired!! For the first time in a very long time, there is no Japanese rider in the top class!

edit. And there won't be a Kwak on the grid next year...
edit again: Why is Stoner racing? He seems to be really sick.

What an exciting finnish to the race. I wonder what happed to Pedrosa to let Rossi gain so much time and almost allow him to win the race.

What the hell was Pedrosa doing at the end? Rossi looked like he was really struggling to get the power down out of the last corner for the entire race.

That was an exciting last corner.. And Hondas first win for over a season. Also a great race for Hayden!

edit. Pedrosa and Lorenzo actually shook hands! images/smilies/shock.gif

Was at the race yesterday... Watched from the top of the hill so I could run back and forth to watch the corkscrew up close and then go over the other side and see turns 10, 11, 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Wish Rossi would have passed Pedrosa at the end. It was UNBELIEVABLE how close he was at the corkscrew on the final lap compared to a few laps previous. All we could hear at the corkscrew from the loudspeakers was that Rossi was going for the move at Turn 11... we all thought with how close he was at the corkscrew that he would have won. I was screaming at the top of my lungs "VAI VAI VAI VAI VAI!!!!!!!!" because well... having lived in Florence yet being an American...I love Rossi and hate Pedrosa. Almost cost Hayden the 06 title.

I only took one picture this year since I didn't bring my camera..taken from my iPhone.. hope it's at least a LITTLE interesting images/smilies/tongue.gif

And my buddy took this of the first lap from where we were standing...it's zoomed in and quite grainy but at least it's something!

All in all it was so nice hearing Moto GP bikes again. I missed the race last year images/smilies/sad.gif

Gibernau's team pulls out of MotoGP

By Pablo Elizalde Monday, July 13th 2009, 08:02 GMT

Sete Gibernau's MotoGP team has pulled out of the world championship and will not be present at this weekend's German Grand Prix.

The Francisco Hernando Group, who brought the team into the championship for the start of the this season, has announced that it is pulling out of the sport due to financial reasons.

"Grupo Francisco Hernando will not complete the 2009 season," the team said in a statement.

"The reasons for this termination is the world's crisis. The Group has decided to concentrate on its investments, focusing all its efforts in its projects as a promoter and constructor."

Gibernau had returned to MotoGP this season after having retired from the sport in 2006.

The Spaniard, however, struggled to make an impression with his Ducati, scoring just 12 points in eight races.

The veteran rider admitted the news came as a shock to him.

"The first person who is surprised by this decision is me," Gibernau was quoted as saying by AS newspaper.

"We have fought a lot to make this project work. To me it was a brave bet, built from the hope from a team with a target that we were meeting. It's a real shame to quit."

Gibernau's exit leaves the MotoGP field with just 17 bikes.

If Gabor Talmasci(spelling?) can get a ride, so should Sete, even though he is at the back of the field..

(Well, he's not ready for MotoGP at all, it's obvious)

But maybe it's better for Gibernau to get a ride in another series, he was really struggling this season, sometimes it was painful to watch.

I was there on sunday.
All I remember is: MUD and thousands of people everywhere!
It really was horrible and I will go there never ever again!
The only nice thing was the MotoGP race. God those bikes were loud... wow.
We had a nice view on the first corner, where most of the overtaking and crashing happened. Marco Simoncelli did his burnout in front of our tribune (Suzuki).
But all in all it wasn't worth it. images/smilies/sad.gif

This season's fight between Rossi and Lorenzo is properly good. Loving it.
