19 years without love

OK guys I don't know any of you but this forum seems to be a cool place where everyone can write about everything and right now I feel I have to write this down.

I'm 19 years old and I haven't had a girlfriend yet. OK it's not that bad, but I didn't even have the chance to have a girlfriend. I mean, I haven't one one date in my life, not even when I was 5 years old, not even a little kiss, no girl has ever said "I love you" to me, nothing.

I'm not ugly, I have great friends (girls as well) but I haven't had anything similar to love so far. And I'm soon 20 years old. Is that normal?

If the girls consider you a friend you are pretty much screwed. Be brave and try to get into their pants before you end up in the friend-section!!

And to answer your question: It's not that uncommon..

Confidence is a good thing to have around women. Be freindly and confident and then move onwards and upwards from there.

I can sort of relate. Back in high school I had many many opportunities for relationships with very nice girls. But I was just too timid about doing anything about it. Now I've gotten over the timidness but the opportunities just aren't there.

Don't worry about it man. I know plenty of people who are in your similar situation. It's very normal.

The important thing is that you/we are still young and so do what you love and learn what you can. Whether it's becoming a doctor or working as a grease-monkey at the local garage, just work hard and enjoy yourself. The girls will come in time. The more you worry about girls the less likely you are to enjoy life as it is right now and the more awkward you will act when you DO get a chance at a girl.

I'm trying like hell right now to get a girlfriend, I'm sick of being alone. You may see katwalk around, I like her quite a bit and am trying desperately hard to get her and she knows it so her seeing this wouldn't be a shocker to her. images/smilies/lol.gif

I asked her on a date and she agreed but she says she isn't ready for dating for her own reasons so we aren't going to call it a date and instead it's going to be referred to as "super happy fun time." images/smilies/lol.gif

Super sadly I think I'm in the friend category before she's even gotten to know me in person. images/smilies/sad.gif

If you meet a girl you like, just go for it because you'll only regret it like freaking crazy later if you don't. images/smilies/yes.gif

Just don't be scared to throw it out there if you like a girl, it's not nearly as scary as you might think after you've done so. If there is one thing I've noticed it's that you just need to be confident with yourself, don't let yourself down and just have the mindset that you'd be the greatest thing to ever happen to her if she let you be her boyfriend and it's her loss if she doesn't.

Meh not that uncommon, I'm 18 and I haven't exactly had all the luck in the world with the ladies, but I've had a bit of a mad life and things are sort of calming down now so maybe there is hope for little anti-net.

I also blame the Internet. If I spent the amount of time I spend here socializing with friends I'd properly have a lot more friends, but less time to browse Wikipedia, I got priorities! (and there all wrong, but I like 'em)

Allow me to...well, talk about me for a moment...ugh, I feel like a jerk already.

Anyway. I have no friends, I am anti social, I am short, underweight, I think I look goofy, I am a little too intense for most people...yet come November, I will be married for five years. And before I met my wife, I had plenty of girlfriends, one night stands, etc.

So how did I do it? It is really simple, bud! You got to start putting some confidence in yourself, believe that you are that funny, nice, whatever person that you believe you are! If you want to meet a girl, you got to let it happen naturally, let the feeling take its course. Ain't nothing going to happen moaning about it on some car forum.
Get out there in the real world! You know how I met my wife? At her workplace, which at that time was a bank. All the women/girls I dated I met out of chance; a casual conversation led onto other things. Trust me, it works! If I can get laid, you can. Seriously. All it takes is being yourself, and believing in yourself. That is all.
