Hah!
I've just run into one of these movies of Brainiac. Never heard of it and turns out to be Hammond.
Just search for brainiac on YouTube and you'll find many more!

I've never seen an episode front to back, but I have seen some of the microwave segments... pure genius!

Hammond stopped doing it quite sometime back though (before the accident)
The program just returned tonight with Vic Reeves as the main host instead

Braniac is mostly crap, a majority of the experiments they do look set up and not very scientific at all. It's like a really dumbed down version of Mythbusters.

I quite liked the segment where Hammond used a Caterham to test which method of driving is the most fuel efficient. I also liked the one where they tested the packing materials by tossing things out of a van. They filmed quite a bit of stuff at the Top Gear track.

The whole point of the show is just childish, lets do a very unscientific experiment and then blow something up. A few segments are alright like the previously mentioned custard part. But the rest of it is like Mythbusters without brains. |
