^ i had a 8 hr transit at Sofia airport a couple of years ago...hmm..not the best airport..thats all i can say
maybe... but my next trip to Europe would definetly be to conquer the Nurburgring... sadly at the time I visited Germany, I knew nothing about the Nurburgring... I only went on the Autobahn with my dad, we hit 231kph in the rented Audi A4Originally Posted by pdanev

sadly the airports on the seaside arent much better, last summer they bothered me, a native person, for 1/2hour till they let me cross the border...ridiculous

but there's some hope for improvement, airports at the seaside are offered for concession, and companies like lufthansa are quite interested, so things might turn out fine in the future![]()
Just FYI, I'll be going back to the Netherlands for two weeks in July.
epsn what binds you to the NL?
I'm Dutch, I lived there until 1996.
oh, i c, didnt know that![]()
Hmm, nobody's been to Norway? Except tloekke who lives here...
I'm born and raised in Norway (north-west, where the fjords and mountains are!)nowadays work/live in Oslo (no mountains!)
Hardly travelled outside of Norway except for when my employer is paying me to go on trips; been to Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Netherlands, UK, France, ... that's it. Going to Spain (Barcelona) in May for work, and then finally out of Europe to Boise, Idaho in the US in June - also for work. Plan on stopping a few days in New York on my way back (any other/better suggestions, you US guys?)
For vacations I'm paying for myself, I really like the mountains where I grew up, so nice visiting my parents who still live there, both in the summer and winter. It's 600 km away, so it's sort of a travel...
58Ah forgot egypt. Now thats a country everyone should visit once in thier lifetime.Originally Posted by Kip_6666

Been to Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, East Germany (right after the iron curtain went down thobefore that I'd been up to the border between west and east), France, Spain, UK, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Danmark, Norway, Tunesia and Canada.
I would really like to go to Asia some time. I really hate travelling actually, it's one of the worst things I know of.. I like being at home and I get like homesick if I'm away from home for like more than 1 or 2 hours.. I lived in Puerto Rico for 2 months last year for work, and I was going mental! It's nice (actually the only thing that really impressed me was El Junque) but I had the worst time of my life, I just wanted to go get it over with and go back to Sweden![]()

Well lets see...
Sweden (Born and raised here)
Denmark
Finland (My mom is finish)
Norway
Germany
France
UK
Spain
Greece
USA (have lived there for a year)
Canada
Those are all i can remember right now...

- Way too long to even get there (22hrs with 2 stops)
- Too hot
- Space? Huh no lets put roads and houses on every sqr inch of the island.
- Nazi police everywhere, one stopped me because I was doing 53 mph where 50 was allowed according to him.. He made a HANDBRAKE TURN on the middle of a busy road for that!! My employers theory was that he stopped me because I was white
- Cars everywhere with drivers that should not have a license
- Bums everywhere
- The girls I met were either stupid, bitchy, whiny, ugly or any combination between those. And I have a girlfriend so I wasn't interested anyway
For comparison, here's what it's like at home:
- No travelling time, because I'm already here.
- Nice and cool
- Lots of forest, rivers, mountains. Cool stuff.
- Police is in town about 3 times a year.
- Roads are pretty much empty and the people that do drive on them drive properly. Improper driving is done offroad in the forest.
- Haven't seen a single bum in the 4 years that I have lived here (not in the nearest cities either)
- Gf lives here, not stupid, bitchy, whiny or ugly
I guess that explains why I wasn't having the time of my life over there
Edit:
I forgot to mention I was there during election time.. Those IDIOTS with their damn parades!! One time it took us 3 hours to get to the supermarket and back, which usually took 10 mins.
Edit2:
I have to say something positive as wellEl Junque was really astonishing. Unfortunately I lived on the complete opposite side of the island and when I was at El Junque there had just been a hurricane so most of the roads were blocked by mud and stones. But what I saw was good
Also the guys that I met were really friendly and nice to hang out with. On my 2nd night I was going to ask a guy on a parking lot for a light and he thought I was going to beat him up so he jumped into fighting positionI told him I just wanted a light and we had a good laugh about it

We stayed in Albena, the usual sun and sea holiday, but we had some excursions, one to a beautiful little town near Sunny Beach, can't remember the name, and another town not far from Varna.Originally Posted by pdanev

23The sad part is that I am not kidding. According to myself I wasn't even speeding at all because I had the cruise control set to exactly 50. Luckily I didnt have my license with me and no ID card or anything either so he let me go and told me not to drive too fast any moreOriginally Posted by logo
The funny part was that my friend stopped right in front of me, he was on his MC. His bike was not insured, taxed or anything and he was wearing slippers while driving it. The cop didnt notice anything weird about that and we got away with everything while we probably should've spend the rest of the day at the police station trying to talk ourselves out of that mess

Damn, how can some of you travel that much? Were those all vacations or did you just visit those countries for fun?
aren't vacations and visiting for fun the same thing?Originally Posted by JoeBlo1
