Default Data Manipulation Question

OK, this is driving me mad, so I thought I could ask here.

I have a set of data, about 1000 points with the x axis running from -10 to 10 and the y axis being the variable data that plots a simple bell shaped curve.

Now, I want to spread that data over a larger number of points, say around 2000. Now I know I can't just make more points so I'd like to average the curve over a larger number of points. Is there anyway to do this in excel or other graph software like Origin?

Will be grateful for any ideas.

DPlot: http://www.dplot.com. Trial version at http://www.dplot.com/dplotsetup.exe.

The Equal Intervals command on the Edit menu will do what you want, with several options for how the new data is interpolated.

You sir are an angel, especially for joining purely to help me! I'll give you some rep, but I hardly feel that expresses my gratitude!
