Or so it was "reported"...

I understand the purpose of the show, however I feel that they could have warned the audience instead of abruptly interrupting their regular broadcast with a realistic "special newsbulletin". Many complaints and 30 minutes later they added a "this is fake" message. A bit late me thinks. Some people were allready on the streets waving Belgian flags whilst marching in front of the Royal palace in support of the King.
About the political reactions: three things you should know: 1) Belgium is complicated and quite small (whitin 2 hours I can easily be in the Netherlands, France, Germany or Luxemburg (by car)) 2) We just have had local and provincial elections, but more importantly: in 2007 we'll be having national elections. 3) Language issues (+ outsourcing National government responsibilities to the regional (language-based) governments) have been a political hot item since before I was born. |
