Three small feet open out from the base when the player is operating. This allows it to stand above the surface and gives room for sound to come from the speaker underneath. The record is held between the closed lid and the base.

The player was advertised as weighing less than 2lbs and operating on 1.5 volt batteries. It sold for 15 guineas.

Thats a snazzy little machine, sound quality must be dire though. Still I now want one just for novelty value!

I am wondering why you are looking at 1960s calenders of that sort though! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Surely that can't be very good for the record. The varying angles that short tonearm puts between the stylus and the record can't be good. Hopefully it has some sort of minor pivoting to the cartridge.

You meat me to posting that^ I know someone who had a record that was ruined after 3 plays with this thing.

Hey guys! I just found a great new CD player that looks just like the OPs, and probably treats the disc just the same!

That is the best music player ever. Don't buy the Porsche one because the music gets really high pitched.

You're wrong, you use that to convert your CDs so you can play them on a turntable
