hey simple ass for u guys, here it is
"rearrange x^2-20x+500
in the form
(x-p)^2+q
thanks

well, think about it.
Start with the (x-p)^2
Expanding that out you're going to get x^2 - 2p*x + p^2
Equate coefficients from one side to the other, and you can tell that p has to equal 10.
From there, you have that (x-10)^2 = x^2 -20x + 100
But you need 500 at the end, so obviously q has to be 400.
So... x^2 - 20x + 500 = (x-10)^2 + 400
Just think it through logically, and break it down into the simple things that you know how to do to begin with.

could someone write it on paper and scan it or photo it? like without thex^2 but with x2 witha a little 2
Just wirte what MadMax wrote on paper yourself and think about it. It's pretty straightforward.
Ok, here's a picture, should be pretty clear

THANKS SO MUCH!
btw as u know iam 17 and this question seems v simple for a 17yr old doin maths..
feel like tellin s story and stoping revison.
so i;m un 12 and we take AS levels. if ur normal u do 4, whcih i am. i use to take business, design, psychology and IT
however, lookin in to uni's, having maths is a major advantage if takin business.
however, when i was doin gcse's i got a B, which is good enough to take standard maths in AS level, however i took the intermediate paper where i u miss out some stuff which is important so they forced me to take a 2 years AS course which means while ppl end up wit ha A level in 2 years, i only get a AS.
but then having maths is adavantage so i guess it worth it.
Dude you suck, I stopped doing maths more than a year ago but that was easy
o thanks, i'll always look to u for postivite comment u ***
