ok so its the first competition of the year and for the after competition social/party there is a theme.
as now nearly every single fresher (freshman) has been born in the 90's, the theme is rather unsuprisingly.... 90's so i need some el cheapo 90's get up (coz im next to broke) any ideas? i need easy stuff coz im shit at making anything (not got the time either really) power rangers seems quite easy to pull off

Try this: flannel shirt, ripped jeans, hair combed downwards, always looking at the floor, mumbling incomprehensibly, feigning depression.
And still there are people that wonder why I was glad to see the back of that decade. |

Try going to a thrift/charity clothing store. You'll find heaps of horrible 90s clothing very cheaply there, perfect for the grunge get up suggested by Ironlord.

The 90s are the new 80s.
Isn't it embarrassing that I can't remember what I wore back in the 90s? Then again, I didn't even get MTV or Nickelodeon, and people are still shocked when I mention casually that I've never seen "Legends of the Hidden Temple". Mostly embarrassingly fitting jeans and whatever my mom could find at Wal-Mart. So, sorry, I can't help you there.

Acid House was going strong in the early 90s - I'm old and I remember - that's another look you could pull together. It has the added benefit of looking completely ridiculous. Baggy jeans, baggy long-sleeved tee, preferably with a big yellow smiley face on the front, a whistle or a baby's dummy/comforter on a cord around your neck, John Lennon sunglasses and a bandana should do it.
Can see where you're coming from with Power Rangers, though. I've done a bit of costume making in my time, and I have to say the Ninja Ranger costumes are much easier than the regular ones. Talking of ninjas, you could, as an alternative, be one of those Turtles, I guess... |

I wore a jean jacket with various metal bands scribbled on it, heavy metal t-shirts, rock star blue jeans with rock star roll-ups*, and wrestling shoes. And I had long greasy hair.
*rock star rolls-ups are when you take the cuff of your pants, fold them over so they are tight on your calf, and roll them up twice. Popular in the Midwest and New Jersey. |

well... Ezeer-Goode is probably how they told top of the pops it was pronounced. i remember watching the history of house music and Mr C was saying how he asked the TOTP crowd if "anyone had any underlay" and when he had to explain himself he told them it was a "rug reference" (the track was shamen right? was Mr C apart of that of have i made that up?)
