Its gotta be top gear aint it - 5th gear is good for vicki and tiff, but for all-round entertainment and sheer randomness, JC, JM and RH win hands down.

I never used to like James May and i'm not sure if its just me or what, but he seems to have come into his own a lot more in recent series - I think it was when he was reviewing other people's cars (on the mini bikes with hamster) and started laying into them that I realised just how sound he is!

Looking forward to the new series - wonder what race they'll have this time?

Sometimes the shorter tasks, like driving clapped out supercars from bristol to slough, are more fun to watch!

The only thing I prefer on Top Gear is the recorded lap times (Stig) since it provides a good comparision.

But I like the new 5th Gear tests on car crashes and all.
clarkson is merely a comedian, i dont really take his words seriously.. everything is a joke from him...

Top Gear is more entertaining, whereas Fifth Gear seems to be more on the informative and boring side. I like them both, Top Gear is my favourite, though. If I needed to buy a good car, I'd go by Fifth Gear's review.

Top Gear is my favourite show of all time. All three presenters are great, the studio atmosphere is great, they have their own track, its hilarious, its an hour-long and I love the off-beat tasks - e.g. car football.

Who cares about serious reviews? Don't seriously tell me that anyone thinking 'Ok, I think I'll buy a Ford Focus but I better get a review first' will also think 'Hmm... I think I'll watch Fifth Gear every week till it eventually gets featured.' images/smilies/lol.gif

That's what the internet is for - TV should be entertaining!

Look for a Clarkson video called "Full throttle" be around somewhere if memory serves me right I downloaded it and had to format abd could not get it again give me time I am still looking. Clarkson and Henderson have a budget to buy a cheap crappy car and customise it with a huge buudget Rover SD1 power 5.2Lt or something, she gets a nova and they go head to head. Great vid. There is also another Clarkson video one of Needel and Clarkson head to head in a XJ and a M5 on camera they where pally and it is a Clarkson video and he was invited. Can I mention Tube or not there is a video in there where they are doing a road test together in the same car.

Personly there is no question in my mind as to whats best. Top Gear ro quote Jules Winfield in Pulp Fiction "It ain't the same sleague and even in the same f*****g sport". I have a dozen episodes of 5th gear on the HDD to extract and the truth of the matter I can't be bothered the time it takes ain't worth the veiwing value.

PS I think Vicki is hot......(should I have admited that on a public forum)

Supercars are supposed to run over Arthur Scargill and then run over him again for good measure.
