Goddamn ignorant dumbass. Thought he was doing "natural selection" because he couldn't cope with the "natural selection" in our society. I really hoped he would survive and live the rest of his life in a maximum-security cell, suffering from the same system he wanted to "overthrow".

I thought handgun ownership was illegal in Finland. Is it not?
Why would that matter? If someone is willing to kill, they're probably willing steal.

Very sad indeed for Finland, never heard of anything this bad from that part of Europe.

Read in the paper today that the guy was a Nazi/Hitler fanatic and believed in Hitlers "Master Race" ideology and basically though that "inferior" people should be killed. Seems he had videos on YouTube of Nazi rallys, really disturbing how someone in this day and age got into Nazism.

And in the end he killed himself.

Sadly "yet" another shooting. Anyone remember the times when this was shocking news? Something went very wrong over the last few years.

That "analysis"(or what ever you call it) by Roger Boyes in Times is exaggerated, insulting and misleading, i wonder is he ever visited Finland? images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

I was just conversing with someone the other day about that. I remember when CNN had Columbine footage running for three days straight after that event.

My thoughts exactly, they have become too bloody frequent, especially in the last few years. Montreal, Virginia Tech ... what else am I forgetting?
There's definitely something screwy going on with the world today.
And for God's sake, I hope one of them survives, so that someone can make an example of him, just to frighten off the other bastards who, even slightly, think of doing something like this.

It matters in this case. Guns are legal to own here, and this gun was obtained legally, just by joining a shooting club. I guess they'll be rethinking the policy of getting a license now.

No, they said that the rules are fine as they are and I agree with them. The problem was in the person not the rules
