the tranlsator we have on the intranet at work did a half decent job however i dont understand one or two of the points

it shouldnt be asking me to calculate anything, this is supposed to be a quote for shipping from a french company

the translator had difficulty with this line:

Quote:
l'assurance de bout en bout
and

Quote:
formalités en douane d'exportation.
thos get translated as " end to end insurance" and " Formalities in customs of export"

now im not sure what thats supposed to mean... end to end insurance of what? the truck? load? boats? i dunno and the formallites of customs? does that mean paper work? or costs related to customs?

btw i did omit some financial data

An ailette is a "little wing" : basically is what you found in a turbine or a jet engine .
http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:SXuwz7KzD4tFjM:http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/830/steel001.jpg

As i understand "assurance de bout en bout" , it must say : " insurance from beginning of the shipment to the end" of the load.

"formalités en douane d'exportation" : i think that it means that you can pay them to do for you the paper work for the customs.

'Anvers' is Antwerp, that's in Belgium?
Police escorts (fat chance off getting that here btw, lazy bastards are way to busy handing out tickets) and dismanteling off obstructions? your sending some BIG parts there it seems
And a Swiss tax? this stuff supposed to go from Antwerp to Switserland ? that's a long ways for an oversized transport.

It's going from birr in Switzerland to Antwerp plus there is also stuff coming from bexbach in Germany going to the same place.

It is a long way yes but there is 6 of these rotors and they're a good weight. They're not fully bladed but usually fully bladed ones are around 60t each

they're shipping to Antwerp and then it's going on the customers boat to Korea. Airfreight would be horrificly expensive.

This is brilliant thanks. I spoke to some French colleagues as well and they agree with these translations. Thanks man I'll give you some rep when I get onto a proper computer. I'm on my iPhone at the moment and the rep thing doesn't work!!!!
