| As some other people said : Nokia doesn't make super tough phones anymore. The 5510 was the best one ever, since you couldn't break it if you tried (I did, and failed). The last of their "good" phones was the simple 3310. After that it's been shit. I never liked how their menu worked so I've never owned one, but I used to sell them. There was a time 95% of people here owned a Nokia. Dumbasses. I've gone from Siemens to SonyEricsson and have since never had a problem. | |

| I have never owned a single Nokia in my life. I have an unexplained hatred towards Nokia phones. I've used Motorolas, Ericssons, Sony-Ericssons, and my current phone is a Samsung. And except for the rubbish T630, all was well. ![]() /edit: my mom owns a Nokia 6100 which has several problems like the front panel breaking apart or the earpiece filling with dust, but it's overall a fine low-end phone.

| I've got a Nokia N61i and i'm really happy with it, I haven't had a problem with it! Its really nice, nice keyboard and good software. I do think nokia need to get back into the game a bit, there old phones were brilliant...and big!

I change phones almost every year............how often do others around here change their phones? |

Car: Ford sierra 2.0 in a few months time. Rep Power: 12 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Ah, the old brick like Nokias.. I've owned 5 mobile phones in my life, 4 of them Nokias, 1 Samsung. The first phone i had was a 3510 with a black and white screen, the classic Nokia brick, it got all the usual shunts and spillages, but the 2 most notable things it survived were falling from a 2nd floor balcony on a stone surface, and being submerged in water for 5-10 minutes. It still works to this day, even though it sometimes loses track of the sim-card, and you have to take the battery out. My second phone was, I think the first Samsung SGH-x phone, only lasted 8 months, broke down after falling off a table. My third phone was a Nokia 6822, the second Nokia with the silly open-up keyboard, the build quality wasn't that good, and the phone squaked while typing, but it survived quite a bit of abuse still. It broke down after falling off an interior balcony thing. I replaced it on the same day with the cheapest phone in the store, some Nokia that cost 39€. Used it for about 4 months without a hitch. Sure the phone lacked some crucial things, like a calendar, but it worked perfectly for what it was. The cheap Nokia was replaced this January for a Nokia 6233, which I got for a bargain. Has worked flawlessly exept for the battery cover, which squeked before I put some rubber between it and the battery. Also, the volume buttens on the side rattle a bit, but aside from that and a few software issues (No video rewinding/fast forward, anyone), the phone has been satisfactory. I only wish it had Symbian s60, for all those fun applications. All in all, if you want a sturdy phone, buy the cheapest, oldest Nokia you can find. A mate has been using a 3210 Nokia for I think 7or 8 years now, still works perfectly. Right now, I cant afford to try any expensive phones, since all my ,money is directed to my "Ford Sierra/Taunus fund", and other neccesities. Btw, my friend has a N95 8gb, and i thought the sliding cover thing was pretty cool with the hidden mp3 player buttons ![]() God that's a long post, propaby filled with typo's. Oh well, back to writing an english essay on Monopoly (not the game, the commercial word) ![]()

Car: None :/ Rep Power: 20 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Eh? 5510 is the only phone of any manufacturer I have managed to break. I was playing basketball and fell to tarmac, the phone was in my pocket and the screen broke. Bloody easy thing to break of you ask me. |

![]() I still have my 5210. Not using it but I know it still works, though the case has a few cracks and the bottom flap is gone. That phone has taken a hell of a beating.

| The counter, counter argument to that is the phones made these days are so shit we have to keep changing. I still think Nokia, along with Sony Ericsson, are at the top of the pile. | |

| .sa = bad driver! | I'm on a three-year schedule myself, but I'm giving my 6670 to my sister for her to use, so I still appreciate durability. I want to upgrade because the new phones are better (more features, better screen, larger storage, slicker integration, etc.), not because my current phone's on its last legs.

| I loved that phone, I had one for ages and after many hard falls, trips in the shower (I like texting in the shower ok!) it still worked! If I can find it and charge it up I'm sure it would continue to work.

Rep Power: 8 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have noticed that the quality follows the factory it's made in. Chinese phones are piece of s**t. (my mom has one, they are also cheapest), hungarian are better (dad has one) and finnish phones are best (but also most expensive, like the N-series). |

| H-p working part time in a phone store i can tell you no matter where the phone is made with Nokia's they still can be unreliable, N95 is a great example, it common occurance to at least having to send one off a week cause it is playing up, though there are a few Nokia models floating around which are fantastic and reliable 6300 and 6500classic to name a few.

| D: | My sony ericsson w800i is nearly 2 and a half years old and is still fantastic at most things (asides from keeping dust out from under the screen) I've had my fair share of nokias, and when I got my w800i nokia seemed very much to be trading on the 'toyota effect' I've been extremely please with my w800i and would purchase sony ericsson again.

I don't have any experience on newest Nokias, I have N80 myself and it's worked fine so far. (had it nearly 2 years now) Only things with it are that I changed the front cover because it was scratched and changed the battery to bigger one. But also I have broken only one phone, my trusty 3210 which I accidently dropped in a puddle. So I'm not the best one to judge which phone is the most reliable. BTW it was just on the news today (or yesterday) that some Nokia models are coming with Linux inside. | |
