Car: Too many Rep Power: 30 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | well i found a new way to play with my dog, i recently bought these little cars called "zip zaps" their about the size of a hotwheel but a little boxier (cartoonish) in shape, anyways i was playing with a 95 RX7 as shown below anyways i was using a zip-tie to attach little beggin strips to the spoiler and get my really old, usually sedate dog to chase the car around, everything was going really smoothly and i think we were both having a great time, and then he bit off the spoiler and ate it trying to get his bacon! i thought the spoiler was glued on really tight, apparnetly not! ![]() anyways i think my dog will be okay, he didn't gag or anything, and its simple plastic with rounded edges etc, im a little worried about the twist tie that was attached to it, but that shouldn't be too harsh on his stomach should it? my dog is a 30lb "Dandie Dinmont Terrier", 14 years of age, looks similar to this dog (a bit older, and a bit larger) i think he'll be okay, any reason to be alarmed? last time he ate plastic (empty snickers wrapper) he threw it up promptly afterwords, hopefully this will be the same note:if your a member of mr2oc.com, sorry for the repost! but im trying to get as much feedback as possible |

| I'm not Moe | Take him to a vet. The plastic used on the car is definitely not the same kind of plastic used for a candy wrapper. I doubt dog stomachs are really used to digesting plastic. A vet will most likely be able to remove the piece safely instead of you just waiting for it to fix itself. |

Car: 2005 Volvo S60 R Rep Power: 68 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Vet the dog ASAP. The vet might be able to induce vomiting and get it out that way... otherwise it's gona be a long, smelly, and painful path out the other end. Surgery is also an option, but a very very expensive one, if it's even needed (I'm no vet). Take him to the vet, or at MINIMUM call the vet and see what they reccomend. Better safe than sorry.

Rep Power: 26 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | If it was just the plastic, I think it would pass no problem. Not sure about a twist tie though

| Dispenses buckshot medication for all undead patients. | The biggest concern will be if the part becomes lodged in the GI tract of the dog, that could cause some serious problems. Difficulty: won't show up on X-rays.

| My dog eats plastic all the time, she has never had any problems although she is quite a bit larger than your dog.

Car: Too many Rep Power: 30 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | this happened way late at night, so thats why i posted on the internet, if it would have happened at 12pm i would have had no problem calling the vets the dogs still fine, i'm going to ask the docters soon, but i slept really sound until 5PM today(day off) the dog isnt in any pain! the only reason i'm worried about getting him checked out is that i'm rather poor to be honest, and after hearing a story about a dog swallowing a lightbulb, i have a feeling that my dog will probably pull through, i'm pretty sure he didn't eat the twist tie, but then better safe then sorry sorry about the constant "anyways" ill keep my eyes on that from now on, anyways ive got to get to bed soon Last edited by Ottobon; March 29th, 2007 at 01:32 AM.. |

BTW, how can you tell if your dog is in pain or not? Maybe it's just cause mine never cries or yelps in pain, but I can't tell worth a damn.
