I'm being bombed - 4th of July

Happy 4th everyone! Haven't seen this posted anywhere yet, but sorry if it is. Doesn't matter much anyways though, this is off topic.

For anyone who doesn't know today is Independence Day in the US, and there are a lot of fireworks.

It won't be dark for about 5+ hours yet, but all my neighbors have already started with firecrackers. And in front of my house (about a foot from the street) there's a huge gorge, so it all echoes REALLY far.

It's funny too because fireworks are illegal in NY so people drive to Pennsylvania, and they also have to drive out of state because it's illegal to buy and use them in the same state. XD Such pointless laws, I've never even heard of them being enforced.

Anyway, happy Independence Day, American finalgearers. Have a good holiday, and do all the traditionally American things - barbecue meat killed with your bare hands, drink Bud and pretend it's the best beer on Earth, set off fireworks and guns, and invade smaller countries - to celebrate! images/smilies/tongue.gif

I was driving through Syracuse yesterday before I moved back and there were these kids shooting each other from across the street with Roman candles. They took up 3 blocks and an intersection. Nearly hit my car, but I would have joined them in an instant.

Ugh, I'm so bored. I stupidly decided to stay home rather than go with my mom and sisters to a town an hour away to hang out with some family friends. My mom convinced me to not go since I didn't have too much fun last year (sitting through a small town parade for a few hours, do nothing, and then watch fireworks). Even though I still woulda been bored, it still woulda been better than this. Fuck. images/smilies/sad.gif
