Initially I wasn't feeling to great but I decided to get drunk and try to burn shit in my backyard. I tried to burn a whole box of snap things that you throw and they snap. The box wouldn't burn to well but there were a few nice moments when there was popping and a fire. Sparklers are awesome for starting a bigger fire. images/smilies/lol.gif

Yes this is in a grill. images/smilies/lol.gif

Then there were just the sparklers which I though it would be cool to take photos of. images/smilies/lol.gif

I was trying like hell to create some sort of chaos but nothing seemed to work. images/smilies/lol.gif Also my camera phone doesn't take pictures of fireworks to well. images/smilies/lol.gif Also it cost me 25cents for each photo to be uploaded via a picture message to photobucket. images/smilies/sad.gif images/smilies/lol.gif

During the town fireworks finale I realized that the way we celebrate our country's birthday is freaking awesome. That giant fireball of fire and explosion was just to freaking cool and I just though to myself, "What other country celebrates their birthday with giant fireballs in the sky in just about every town." images/smilies/lol.gif

I'm glad to know that tax payer dollars in this town at least went to something that was entertaining, best money they spend all year long. They may not fix North Street and may leave way to bumpy to drive on but at least they blow stuff up in the sky. images/smilies/lol.gif

Nice Celebration !!! images/smilies/happy.gif

Last year I was in the States durning the 4th of July and it was a very enjoyable day. It sucks that in some states fireworks are illegal though. Is there some kind of law or something??

We also have a VERY similar celebration here in Catalonia (spain). It's in the night before the 24th of June (la nit de Sant Joan) where people just get together create bonfires during the day, burn them during the night and throw LOTS of fireworks. The cool thing is that here there are no firework restrictions so you can buy fireworks almost similar to small explosives images/smilies/tongue.gif

This year we exploded several things into pieces including bricks, boxes or...

State rights are big here. Most things are left up to the states here -- speed limit, death penalty, fireworks, etc. etc. etc.

^^^Fireworks laws are set by town here in New Hampshire last I knew, so in some towns they are legal and in other towns they are not. In my town they are supposed to be illegal but the police and the fire department don't enforce the law so basically you can get away with it as many people do.

We actually called the police on some people a few years ago, they were using fireworks very unsafely across the street and almost set the neighbor's house on fire but the police said they wouldn't come for fireworks because it was up to the fire department to enforce that law. These same people were also lighting firecrackers and throwing them at our cars, we were obviously not happy with them or the lame police department who wouldn't do anything about it. Those people are luckily gone now, I hate it when people have no respect for others and others property.

New Hampshire is a state where the motto "live free or die" is taken very seriously. Fireworks, gun control, hell you dont even need car insurance. we have about 6 places within 20 miles that have every firework you could ever need its great images/smilies/lol.gif

Man, I don't even remember how I got home, it's a good thing I didn't drive. I was apparently sober enough to put my cell phone on the charger and my keys/wallet next to it but I was too drunk to take off my clothes for something better to sleep in. Woke up still wearing my shoes.

Went down to an island on the river got really really drunk even though I wasn't planning on it (buddy gave me a few Dog Fish head 120 minute IPA's 20% so it hit fairly hard mixed with a few shots that were also unplanned) than watched "the biggest fireworks show west of the mississippi" (that really isn't).

Buddy had a jet ski but I only went out once, after that I was too drunk and didn't really want to risk it seeing as there were 1,000,000 river cops out.

Saw a fight too, bunch of tough guy bro's fought it out, but like most bro's they couldn't fight so it ended up being a good laugh and not much more.

All in all a good 4th! Hope everybody had a good time! Now I must cook something to eat, I miss being 18 when you could get hammered wake up early the next day and be fine.

I hear that, took me an hour and a half to get of bed this morning. 3:30 this morning I was still drinkin beers with the neighbors at their fire pit. I woke up next to an unopened beer fortunatly, so as soon as I felt I wouldn't vomit, hair of the dog straightened everything out images/smilies/cheers.gif

Ah it was a good day! Tasty ribs, fireworks being set off way too close to friends (including some old fireworks that aren't made anymore for safety reasons), firing a gun for the pure hell of it, and then getting very very drunk. America! Fuck yeah!!

I managed to get a 12-pack of Sam Adams Summer Sampler before I left Syracuse. Came back to MA Thursday night, and my friend had a stockpile of fireworks he had gotten after last year's 4th, from the annual Post-4th-of-July fireworks sales in New Hampshire. (We're going back on Tuesday to stock up for next year's. images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

In the afternoon we went to a car show in Worcester and watched the burnout contests (I'll post pictures eventually). Saw some amazing machinery spread over acres of green hills, lots of old American iron and ridiculous trucks. Later, we sat around setting off Roman Candles in my backyard and enjoying corn-on-the-cob and good beer. Pretty good time, looking forward to next year's excuse for beer and explosives. images/smilies/cool.gif

Actually my 4th was pretty lame, especially considering my brother and his U.B.E.R. lame friend hogged all the explosives and we didn't have like 500 bajillion of them this year so the show was a lot smaller, but there were two big shows across the gorge(that echoed like mad) and both next door neighbors put on huge shows so I got my fill anyways. images/smilies/smile.gif

My brother uploaded these two vids from last night, with the camera we just got yesterday.
The first one is my dad (or ManBeast as I call him) wearing his hillbilly hat to annoy my mom and lighting some little things. ...And my brother's uber furry legs at the end XD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzmy6QQxizg

And here Fatty(my brother) was having fun in some editing program because he's never used it before. The weird kid with the goggles is Fatty's friend.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hK28KFRUW0g
Not nearly everything we did, but this is all he uploaded. I was actually surprised he had any vids up at all, I didn't know he was planning to.

I don't even get the fireworks laws though. Basically if someone burns down a building or explodes someone else they confiscate the fireworks. That's it.

First, http://www.tnalafireworks.com/. No, they're not illegal here, AFAIK biggest fireworks stands in America. Problem is, getting there when you live in the northern part of the state, and they're all in the southern part of the state.

Second, Nashville has the 2nd best/biggest/something-or-other show outside of NY or Philly or where ever it was they said last night. 25,000 boom-makers.

5th of July one of the two worst days of the year. Which might be the reason I didn't wake up until... we'll call it late.
