Man Is Charged With murdering Five Prostitutes

A man has been charged with murdering five Ipswich prostitutes.

Steve Wright, 48, of Ipswich, has been charged with killing Gemma Adams, Tania Nicol, Anneli Alderton, Paula Clennell and Annette Nichlls.

He will appear at Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The five victims were found dead near villages south of the town between December 3 and 12.

Gemma, 25, was found at Hintlesham on December 2; Tania, 19, at Copdock on December 8; Anneli, 24, at Nacton on December 10; and Paula, 24, and Annette, 29, at Levington.

The women were murdered at a rate unprecedented in British criminal history.

More than 500 officers from over 31 forces were called in to help with the investigation.

Inquests into all five deaths have been opened and adjourned.

Another man arrested on suspicion of the murders, Tom Stephens, is to be released.

God, I hope they got the right man. He needs to be off the streets immediatelly.

They were people - sisters, daughters, friends. The fact they were prostitutes does not dehumanise them, make them any less worthy, or make this story any less tragic. Nor does it make your statement any less disgustingly disrespectul.

And I thought some of the posts made in the What's your sexuality thread had set the bar as low as it could go - seems I was unfortunately wrong.

We have probably the most liberal laws in the world considering prostitution and I am glad that the situation is as it is. I believe that every human life has a value and judging just because of behaviour, race or gender is certainly out of the question.
My comment was indeed very offensive and disrespectful, but it served it's purpose.

heard about this a while ago, good thing they at least have suspects now .... and the killer is such a damn copycat, I forget who it was that started all this serial-killing against hookers, it definitely wasn't jack the ripper, but after that incident everyone started doing it, damn.

They are still human beings and have as much right to live as any other.
