Default MOTOR Published Me!

Well I feel special anyway. I wrote a letter to motor and it got in. Here's a scan...

http://img433.imageshack.us/img433/5868/motorlarge7og.gif

Funniest part is, the letter was longer, they edited the crap out of it and didn't fix the grammar, so I end up looking like a fuckwit anyway...

So your name's Sam Lehmann, huh? images/smilies/shifty.gif

What was your original letter? Do you still have it?

Here's the full letter:

Quote:
Although it doesn't seem anywhere near it, it was almost 2 years ago when Matt Thomas took the wraps off his Joss Supercar concept at the Melbourne motorshow. Even though it was sitting next to the stunning Porsche Carrera GT, it was still a beautiful looking piece of kit, and an Australian piece of kit at that. So, where has it gone? The Joss website used to have a regular news update, the last update being on the 17th of December 2004, over a year ago! I had started to believe that it had become another stillborn project. I started reading about the XBOX 360 the other day, and the Joss popped up in the Project Gotham Racing 3 car list. I checked the screenshots and sure enough, there was our Joss racing against the best from Ferrari, Lamborghini and Koenigsegg. It's only a small indirect wiggle of activity, but is it a glimmer of hope? I desperately hope it is, as then we'd have an Australian car to read about that isn't based on a Commodore or has four doors. Not that it's a bad thing, I'm a huge fan of the local product, especially that from the red corner. Having only 3 real Australian cars (Commodore, Falcon, 380) gets rather boring. The exciting cars are really only hotter versions of family hacks, Monaro included, so it's really only bread and butter stuff. What Australia needs is a true jewel in it's crown to go alongside our current lineup. The Joss is the perfect contender and Matt Thomas seemed to have the ambition and the plan to go and claim that place both on the local and world stage. Is the Joss still alive?
It must have been a pretty good question anyway, even they couldn't answer it!!

Well done ... and good question. I'd forgotten all about the Joss - and it sounds like a lot of motoring journos did too. Shame since it sounded like it had real potential.

Yikes, they really butchered it. Cut out pretty much everything after "glimmer of hope". images/smilies/wacko.gif

Still, that's your 15 minutes of fame. Next, you've gotta make fun of GM or something. 8)

Yeah, it's a pity it's gone off the radar, not only does it look sexy as hell but if i recall correctly, the engine figures being bandied about were something special too... Surely Motor or Wheels could get someone to do some ringing around... Hell, they're the main car mags in Aus, they must have some kind of weight/influence behind them. Get digging boys!

it wasn't so much the engine that was going to be special, but the 900kg fully wet weight. It's like a lotus on steroids. big steroids.

actually the best way to put it would be that this is a slightly more modern Australain take on the F40. It's kind of built in the same vein. Ultra light, big v8 engine, no electronics...

Well, Joss has updated their website.

The search for investment in the project continues.

Only 12-18 months is then required for the company to roll out its first fully fledged production car.
