Need Help With Website

I'm planning on starting a website, but im not sure exactly what i want it to be about. There are many options that i have been thinking of but couldn't decide. Here are my different ideas:

Torrent Website
Website on Cars
Website about Me/ Random Stuff
Website about Motorsport
Website about Arsenal FC
Car Related Video Hosting Website
Forum Website on Cars, Motorsport, Arsenal FC, or a little bit of everything

Basically i just need some advice from people who already have or have had websites and what i should prepare myself for. I am open to any and all ideas so please let me know what you think. Also, i plan on using the website to make some money later on after it has started to get a good amount of visitors. Please Help!

It's so funny, I've been asked this question a few times before. Why make a website if you have nothing to make a website about?

But of the options you provided, I'd say make a site about yourself and have some sort of blog or something. There's no money in personal blogging but I don't see how you can just start up a random site with the intention of making money off it at some point... especially if you don't even know what the site is about/for.

True... im still in the brainstorming part of it. Basically my friend started a website about PSPs which is huge now (PSP3D.com) and he makes so much money and i just want to get into the world wide web and make some $ and learn how to manage a website which will help me later on in the job world.

You need to have something to offer. Competing against already popular sites won't work unless you have something that others can't provide, or don't offer.

But you can never really plan on something that big... if you have web design skills, then why not just design websites for other people and make money like that? All I'm saying is you're gonna be disappointed if you start up, for example, an electronics website in hopes of becoming the next Engadget, you know?

I understand... i was thinking of making a site similar to carfreaks.net or a forum of some kind.

Your right... i'm currently taking a computer graphics design class but don't want to put my focus on that because its not a great hobby of mine. I could make a website on a tv show that i like besides Top Gear or Fifth Gear, i have so many tv shows that i watch. And some of them don't have a lot of websites about, if any. I really don't know... maybe i should just make a personal blog site for now and once i get that going for awhile, then i can expand.
