Default Over 100mph ground speed in freefall.

I am getting better at flying my wingsuit and the new technologies available allow to review flight data in a very nice way. images/smilies/smile.gif

Google Earth users: click here.

Believe me, when you get out of the airlplane at 13,500 ft and more than a mile and a half away horizontally, the DZ looks really small and far away to get back to without an engine or an open parachute ! images/smilies/blink.gif images/smilies/lol.gif

Very very cool use of Google Earth - what do the blue and red sections on the freefall represent?

Yes. The data is transfered to Tracking Derby for comparison with others jumpers.

With the wingsuit, distance traveled is calculated from 15 sec after exit and for the next 90 seconds or until 3,333ft/1000 meters of altitude, whichever comes first. So the blue is the flight not part of the "race" and the red is the actual data used for the "race". And the green part is the canopy ride to the ground.

images/smilies/think.gif *90 seconds ... I thought it was 105 ...
What if I had a slightly sharper angle of attack ? I'd glide a little faster, covering more ground and still not run out of time to ... *

Lol, I know the feeling. Last year after I finished the begginer course, I made few jumps, and then it just wouldn't stop raining. I went there 3 more times (it's 150km away from me, so I can't drop by just every day), and every time it was either rain whole day or high wind images/smilies/sad.gif

But I'm back on track now, going there this weekend for a short "repetition course" images/smilies/smile.gif

Cool.

How do you put that in GEarth? Any additional SW required? What's the input anyway ... GPS coordinates?

^Yup, my Garmin Foretrex 201 GPS records the track and I transfer the data to my computer via the Tracking Derby agent software (free) and they turn the data into a GEarth file for me only. But I chose to share it with you. images/smilies/smile.gif
