i got my provisional drivers licence today! i thought i had failed, i was so shocked when he told me. it was a terrible morning too, i started crying because of nerves an hour before sitting the test, but i chilled out and just enjoyed driving with the tester. wow, still can't believe it.

It's begun down here now I think, stupidest idea ever.
Curfew, 1 passenger max, and other stupid stuff.

Congrats though - manual or auto?

yep, we have the green p's system, had it since 1999. but green p's aren't limited in passengers, speeding or curfew, red p's are.

red p's are limited to one passenger between 11pm and 5am, can be automatically suspended for speeding, limited to 90km/h.
green p's aren't limited in passengers and don't get auto suspension for speeding, they're limited to 100km/h.
both have zero tolerance to alcohol.

i don't mind the curfew because my car barely fits more than 2 people and it gives me an excuse to not be designated dave images/smilies/tongue.gif

i got it on auto because i own an auto and used my own car for the test.

i know! 2 days before my learners expired hahaha. would have been hell if they did expire...120 logbook hours FTL.

aparantly with the looming changes to the victorian system they have been booked solid for months and if you fail your first attempt you basically have no chance of retrying until the new system is introduced.

yeah, we had a similar situation but it's starting to settle. i had to book 2 months in advance.

I know it probably means nothing to most here, but I got a 3.1 last quarter. Makes me happy as it's the first time I've had a GPA over 3.0 since I started college.

I got in to the American Institute of Indian Studies Hindi program in Jaipur. They had over 500 applications and could only take 30 people. This means that for 3 months, I'll be coming to you from the land of intermittent interwebs.

July 1, new financial year. My little sister's going for her L's on April 29 so she'll be on the current system which is lucky. This 4 years of P's thing is bullshit.

Working on my last essay right now. I can't even see past it to what I'm doing for the summer; I just think of 20 empty pages sitting before me. Trying to get started is like trying to shit a watermelon.

Just about; need another french class and a science credit over the summer(COMP101, or maybe that wine course?). At least, that's enough to say the degree is done. While looking for a job for the summer, I'm realizing just how worthless a B.A. really is.

How about you? Have you started looking for a "career"? Or do you have something going already?

^ I know of people who flunked the wine tasting class... apparently you need to learn a great deal. I took CPSC 100 (intro to computing) and I did pretty poorly as I thought I didn't need to study (but in reality I did). Luckily I got credits for a second language since I'm fluent in Farsi... otherwise UBC would require me to do 12 credits of a second language. images/smilies/blink.gif

I don't have anything going yet career-wise. For now I just spend my days kicking myself for doing a BA... it's worthless unless you're going to grad school. I mean there's jobs everywhere in Van, but I haven't been able to force myself to work minimum wage yet. Either I'll find something decent or lack of cash flow will drive me to flip burgers soon enough.

This is my last quarter, taking four classes (17 units). Three lower division to boost my GPA and my Senior Seminar in 20th Century American History. Yep, 18-20 page research paper!
