^ Good call on astronomy, that seems like a good elective for arts students along with some geography courses. I took Astronomy 311 with Newbury and it was pretty easy and fun as well. A little bit of studying is required for a good grade but otherwise an easy class... the final was designed like a spaceship ride for cryin' out loud. I was gonna take CPSC 101 instead, looks like I made a good choice.
There's a few science courses tailor-made for arts students looking for science electives. Like I said ASTR 310/311 and a few geography courses fit this criteria. I think you're better off taking these than some random arts elective since these are usually really dumbed down for the dumb arts students. |

Dumb down is good. I want an easy 'A'. I've already taken GEOG100 or one of those first year ones, and it sucked; boring as hell, and not as easy as you'd think. Maybe one of those EOS courses....but is there really no super-easy compsci 100 course?

^ Comp Sci 100 was the easiest and as I said before, it wasn't all that easy. I'm pretty computer savvy and I almost failed this class of basic computer stuff. You just had to memorize a lot of random crap like how hardware works.
So I recommend not even bothering with CPSC. Go for astronomy, you won't be sorry. The labs are basically a free for all, and you can fill out the fill-in-the-blank notes through Google. ![]() |

My 1982 Honda Magna (my old bike) just sold! The new owner came out with a friend who checked over the whole bike and took her for a test ride. As soon as he rode up with a clean bill of health and gave the thumbs-up the deal was done.
$1400 cash, my full asking price - no hassle and no haggling. I sincerely hope he loves her as much as I did. He's a financial consultant and welds for fun, so I know she is going to a good home. First thing tomorrow I go to the bank and then I pay down my credit card.

There's a set of school competitions here on most of the subjects studied at school, and also a few more which aren't studied. Attended Astronomy and Physics this year, failed to qualify at the national phase for Physics, back in February, by one place, but sneaked in for the national phase of the Astronomy competition; the regional phase was in March, national starts tomorrow. It will keep me out of town until Sunday evening.

Update on the previous post: There were two classes, juniors (sub-15) and seniors (the rest). I was in the latter class, and out of 80 people I was 26th. Not too shabby considering the very very poor preparation that I had. But there's always next year... well, actually, only next year for me.

I just weighed in. I've dropped 20 pounds since returning to California - almost all the weight I packed on eating that high-calorie hospital cafeteria food and take-away for four months.

I probably should state that I'm as far away from the fucking call centre as possible and haven't worked there in almost a year. I work at an auto manufacturing plant now with a lot less stress. A truck load less.
I've dropped 40 pounds in the past 6 months as well. I've gone to and exceeded my goal without spending a dime.

I got a promotion at work to a position i applied for yesterday. Instead of spending longer periods at one client doing a particular kind of project, i now manage the IT departments of several clients simulataneously, spending between 2 days per week and 1 day every 2 weeks at the client. It also means that I get a desk at my employer's main office and that i get to know everyone there, which will also come in handy. And i get a brand new laptop for my work.

I finally got my license, I'm so happy now. It wasn't nearly as big of a deal as I thought it would be. My Dad's about the most proud of me as I've ever seen him, he's almost happier about it than I am.
![]() Oh and I've got to thank katwalk for encouraging me to go for it this week. She was right it was easy. ![]()
