i know...my post was of a similar humorous tone. you can't get a tourbi for less than 10 grand. and it's really actually ineffective in comparison to a modern movement.

^ Rose gold isn't exactly to my tastes but that's a nice looking watch. I was looking at a Navitimer, blue on blue, a few years ago but I went for the Seamaster since I figured my only nice watch should be a sportier one.
I'm glad this thread is bumped though. My new watch should be here in just under a month. Too excited...

Nice, but breitlings are typically a little too garish for my tastes.

^ You guys spend a lot of money on watches. As much as I like watches, if I had a few grand laying around I wouldn't go spend it on one.

Same. I've been using my cellphone since my last watch broke. Then I got a new watch for Christmas *cough*'05*cough*, which I haven't worn because it's too big and needs a link taken out. I'm lazy.

Oh lol, nevermind in that case. The last watch I had was a Fossil that I got as a gift in 8th grade, I kept that for over 4 years.

I think people who buy 'fine' watches are either so rich they don't care, or their watch hobbyists. I'm personally the latter... some people mod their car for a few grand, I get a new watch for a few grand.

It just looks/feels/sounds so unnecessary ESPECIALLY at my age. Thinking about it, all of those watches I listed is worth more than our Grand Am is ![]() I just noticed that most of you guys are on the younger side, I wouldn't expect people in that age range to own such high priced watches. |

The trouble with having one nice watch as your only watch is that I worry too much about breaking it when I go riding with my mates, or working in the yard... I think I need a cheap digital or something to ride and work in.
