The upper one has a weird shape and the last one looks tiny, more like a girls watch.
but again, that might just be the photography.

I'm really seriously considering getting one of these:

http://pic.phyrefile.com/a/an/anonymous/2008/06/10/Pilots_Watch_Chrono-Automatic_000.jpg

Its just so beautifully designed and built. The downside is that it costs an absolute fortune that could actually go into buying some performance parts for my E55........

IWC, nice. I especially like their "Ingenieur" model. They are horribly expensive though. I'd rather go on vacation with that kind of money images/smilies/smile.gif

Which is why I'm wondering whether I should spend that money on some E55 hot-up parts.

If I'd had the money to spend, I'd go for the watch.

True that. I love IWCs, and I've been considering that particular watch for a very long time now.

I'd go for the watch as well. If you're the type of person who enjoys watches you can get a lot of enjoyment out of something like a nice IWC piece. May I ask how much that specific model retails for? I may have some other recommendations for you depending on the price. images/smilies/tongue.gif

I took my Omega to the shop to get it serviced and it's gonna be there for a week. My wrist feels so weird without a watch on... oh well, I can wait a week to get a free service (it would probably cost ~$200 back in Canada).

Check out his "location". I suppose he originally bought the watch in Iran and brought it back to the same shop where he bought it...

No, I'm just on vacation in ze motherland.

Both my Omega and Breguet were bought in Iran... there's a store here who is the official agent for pretty much all high-end brands, ranging from Omega and Rolex to Glasshute and Blanc Pain.

I get the services done for free because I was childhood friends with the owner's son, and because my dad being a watch collector, has bought quite a few pieces from him. But even if I had to pay, it would still be a lot less than back home.

I've been using an old Casio for almost 15 years now, so I thought it'd be time to upgrade images/smilies/tongue.gif I also have a Swatch skin that my beloved bought for me, but I don't wear it very often.

I'm not too sure on pricing, as I'll be buying when I head over to Hong Kong for a business trip. But what else would be worth considering? I really like IWC watches in general, as they have that timelessly elegant but modern look to their design. I'm not a big fan of bulky watches (Rolex, I'm looking at you)

^ Is that IWC not on the bulky side? It looks rather big in the picture.

I don't have any specific recommendations if you don't have a price range, but definitely look at other brands too. Well, it won't be too much trouble, I'm sure you can find a store in HK that carries all the good brands. I guess you'll be buying duty free? images/smilies/biggrin.gif

This was given to me over 10 years ago the day of my confirmation. It has engraving on the back to comemorate the day. All I know is that it's a Pulsar and it was expensive. It's currently on it's 4th band, this one is made from alligator. It's a little worse for wear, but it's still a nice watch.

I got a new one today. Nothing fancy, it's a cheap Chinese one, but self winding mechanical and a good weight, so I'm quite happy.

And some of my fountain pens as well, but those don't keep time.

Okay guys, the Omega is getting slightly beaten up from being worn on a day to day basis, although it still runs like...well, like a swiss watch. I love it and do not intend to sell it, but am looking for another nice watch to rotate it with so that I don't need to have it brushed and buffed as often. My price range is roughly between 600 and 2000 dollars and although I wish things were cheaper, the stuff in this range that I like has been a bit towards the higher end. I've been seeing a lot of Orises, Ebels and Edoxes pop up when I search in this range, as well as the usual suspects like omega, tag, et al. SO...I am open to suggestions. What do you guys think I should get?

Anyone here familiar with hand-wind watch movements? I figured out what was wrong with my generic Chinese pocket watch. The ratcheting mechanism, pointed out by the arrow below, isn't catching when I wind the mainspring, and unless I manually nudge it into place, it won't stay wound up. Of course I can open it up every time I want to wind it, and seeing as it's my third watch, I could conceivably do this, but I'd prefer not to. My question is, should there be more teeth on that wheel? If the problem isn't with a broken wheel, what could I do to make it work properly? I really have no reason to take it to a watchmaker, because it'd be cheaper for me to just get another one (and my mom did pick one up from China for $9 last time she was there), but if any of you experienced amateurs has any thoughts, I'd appreciate it.

Just got this a couple of weeks ago. It was time to replace my old Fossil, and since I am a bit of adidas addict, I got an adidas watch, actually made by Fossil.
I think it's rather nice, considering the fact it only costed me $60.http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/7937/cimg3254qc2.jpg
