That was brilliant. I have only recently been introduced to the daily show but I'm certainly enjoying it!
However, didn't understand the 'lock box' comment - anyone care to enlighten me?
Also, anyone know what date this ep was from?

Cheers

1991 Peugeot 309 - owned it for four years, currently the only runner and the daily driver... but great fun to drive! French though, so gotta treat her rough to keep her happy.
1989 Toyota MR2 Mk1 - owned it for two years. Love it loads. Currently undergoing a suspension upgrade...
1987 Toyota MR2 Mk1 SC - A project car that had Headgasket issues when I bought it. I've never driven it... yet...

It has to do with Al Gore and the 2000 debates. He kept on talking about a "lockbox" in regards to taxpayer money, something like that...don't quite remember the issue.

What actually made it famous was the SNL fake debate where they lampooned how Gore talked too much about the social security "lockbox" and Bush kept making up words. Gore went on and on describing how social security money would be kept in a lockbox, what the box would look like, where it would be hidden, who would have keys....
The punchline was asking each candidate to describe their campaign in one word. Al Gore= Lockbox! (Bush= Strategery).

The Lock Box was a copy of The Count of Monte Cristo in the SNL skit, IIRC.

Nah, Firecat got it right. Gore proposed a theoretical (at least I hope it was theoretical) "lock box" to safe keep tax payer money. At least I think that's what he proposed to put in there.
