WGA is proof of tangible evil. I never let it install on my computers.

WGA managed to slip in there a while ago on a previous windows install. I made sure to disable auto update after that.

I don't give two shits whether it's on my computer or not. Why would I care if Microsoft knew a few minor details about my comp?

What if you've installed a single copy of windows multiple times on the same compy and don't want to call dell and get the activation key, blah, blah, blah...
Besides, it's a slippery slope.

I don't even use my driver, I have a lot more control with a 3 wood. Whenever I get that driver in my hand, I have this urge to just kill the ball....and we all know how that works out.

Back to golf eh? Yeah sometimes I have days where the driver just isn't my friend and I have to downgrade to the 3 wood. Then sometimes none of the woods really like me and I end up teeing off with the old 3 iron.

Yeah, i'm really not that good with anything lower than the 4 or 5 iron. Any tips? I can't hit those hybrid clubs either (fairway woods?).

I think the problem with the woods is that they're so lightweight. With irons you have a lot of weight at the end of the club that helps keep it moving in a straight line. Maybe using some older and heavier woods would help out? Either that or put some serious work into making sure your swing is nice and straight when using woods.

The slightly curved face on some woods might also be contributing to crappy shots. I'm not sure what to say about your trouble with the fairway woods. Some of my best and most fun shots are using the 3 or 5 wood in the fairway or rough and just letting it sail.

I'm pretty sure I keep my swing standard, it's probably more of a mental thing. I have it stuck in my mind that I can't hit it. I think i'll hit the driving range more.

Here's the deal. Most people have a very vertical swing. They take the club straight back, and some straight down through the ball. This works with wedges and you can usually get away with it and irons. But the issue is that these shots have a tendency to slice and this technique really doesn't work with a wood (irons don't dig as much when you chunk it, so you usually pinch the ball and it goes somewhere). What you have to do is flatten out your swing so that it's about 50-50 horizontal to vertical. If the club is too horizontal, you hit it really thin and it just kills lots of worms. A good drill for this is to take your club (preferably a 3-5 iron or a wood) and hold it with the grip in your belly button. Then grab the club and do a sort of quarter turn with your upper body in both directions. A quick fix for these issues on the course is to use more horizontal wrist snap (do a little waggle before you swing, then replicate the motion during your takeaway) or to stand farther away from the ball, which forces you to flatten your swing out.

Hope this helps...I've been playing for 11 years and I've taught at least ten people how to play from scratch. When they have those types of issues, this is usually what's wrong.
I hate hybrid clubs, btw. They're for people who aren't creative or can't hit their long irons, though they are fun for chipping contests. A good way with your long irons to get good is to practice hitting from behind trees or out of fairway bunkers, you learn what works and what doesn't pretty quick.

Thanks for the tip, definitely gonna give it a shot!.....

I was watching Six Degrees and they mentioned missed connections on craigslist. I checked it out, very funny. Basically it's like a place where you can post if you saw someone you like and never got their info, maybe there's a chance they could pick it up on here...who knows

http://orlando.craigslist.org/mis/
(they have different cities)

Some are like, "I always see you in the drive through at this Taco Bell" yada yada. Interesting stuff....nothing about me sadly.

So Mrs. fbc had a dream last night - nothing strange about that, but in this one she was playing with Lego and building a crane... with the Top Gear boys.

Which is funny enough, but what I really love is that apparently in the dream James was being a bit of an expert images/smilies/lol.gif

"And this piece of Lego, this one's called Stanley..."
