Default Secret Bases?

I dunno how famous Area 51 is outside the US but basically it's said to be an experimental aircraft testing site in nevada. You can find it by typing area 51 in google earth. Are there any other secret or mysterious bases where anyone else lives?

Thats the most famous one here in America. No doubt there are more in the country, but they aren't known as much. I always enjoy watching the documentaries about Area51, I think its safe to say that its real and they make/test experimental aircraft and other technologies there, but no aliens.

They had this interview with this one guy who said he worked there, and he said that while working there that he talked to oranges and frogs and worked on UFOs and stuff like that. I don't think thats true at all.

Another one in America: Mount Weather in Virginia, inside a hollowed-out mountain. Rumor has it that there's an entire city in there, with facilities for the White House and Congress in case something happens to Washington.

Kudos to the US Gov't for choosing such a scenic place to build a secret military installation. I bet the Groom Lake goons are jealous. images/smilies/tongue.gif

I have looked at images of the Groom Lake Test Facility and there is never anything interesting there. They make sure that nothing gets parked outside where it can be photographed and they monitor the flyovers of satillites.

Now go look at Edward's Air Force Base. Last time I checked there was an F-22, 3 B-1B Lancers, an 2 SR-71 Blackbirds.

This kind of thing really interests me. There has to be people who work in there, and so they know what is actually in there!

In Australia the best known secret base is Pine Gap in the Northern Territory.

http://www.alicesprings.nt.gov.au/about_alice/photos/pine_gap_page.jpg

http://i.cnn.net/cnn/2003/WORLD/asiapcf/auspac/12/03/aust.missile/story.pine.gap.ap.jpg

It consists of a large computer complex with eight radomes protecting antennae, and has over 800 employees. It is officially called the Joint Defence Facility Pine Gap. It is believed to be one of the largest ECHELON ground stations.

I also hope that the government aren't monitoring this and arrest me for being a spy and supplying info to terrorists. images/smilies/tongue.gif

I think they have various levels of security in there, like people only know what they need to know and stuff...

When I was in Las Vegas, I saw what I think was one of the plain 737s that they use to ferry employees out to Area 51 taxiing to the runway for takeoff when I was waiting for my flight out. It qas very interesting.

There are definitely people that know what happens at these facilities but at least in the US, they can be brought up on treason charges if they divulge any classified information.

Nope, Edwards is in California, A51 is in Nevada. Edwards has a different building and runway configuration as well, according to google maps.

Now you see in other countries secret bases are "secret", hence the name. Its only in America where the secret bases are more famous than the non-secret ones.
