subtitles would be great, d-motor is actually pretty good to watch..even when i havent got a clue what they are saying.

it's the de facto standard in anime fansubbing currently. one reason is because it allows karaoke timing and has something called transformations where you specify the start time the end time and what you want to be done in between, for example changing font color, or opacity or size etc.

In the end, it doesn't really matter what format one picks, it's just that ass gives the subtitle more freedom over what he can do.

So, i which format you translate it doesn´t matter. If .ass is the besser format so we´ll use it. Although I did the first 12,5min of episode 26 in .srt.

The normal procedure is to translate into a .txt file line by line and then import into a timing program to sync it up to the audio.

Are you translating and timing at the same time?

just watched the ep..

brilliant, even tho the audio/video is out of sync, its still nice to watch the R8 going sideways. And excellent RS4 review too, pretty much exactly what ive said after driving one myself. And the Porsche 9ff... OMG @ the acceleration.

I've watched a previous episode of DMotor without subs and it was still a bit entertaining - even though I didn't know what was going on. It's bloody terrific now! I hope your efforts and our education in German will continue images/smilies/smile.gif

At the moment we are only doing new episodes. We have 4 guys on the team so far (no native speakers for proofreading yet), once we have some more experience and/or more people we will certainly try to work our way through all the older episodes as well.
